f***'em.

If the Skanks had any kind of integrity they would have told him to take a walk when he opted out of his contract during the World Series, after they specifically asked him not to.

"It's clear he didn't want to be a Yankee," Hank Steinbrenner told the Daily News last night. "He doesn't understand the privilege of being a Yankee on a team where the owners are willing to pay $200 million to put a winning product on the field.

"I don't want anybody on my team that doesn't want to be a Yankee."

...

"We're not going to back down," Steinbrenner said. "It's goodbye."

i'm glad they did sign him to that ridiculous contract though. it's gonna suck for them when he's 41 years old and can barely stay healthy, let alone be productive and he's one of the highest paid players in baseball

a-rod's worth every cent of his $32 million salary. if he continues to hit like this' date=' it's gonna be a long 7 years remaining on his contract[/quote']

He's worth every penny in my book, Yankees might've not won the World Series last year if he didn't hit like he did in the post season. Being 35 years old now a drop in performance is to be expected.

one world series win is worth having him be the highest paid player in baseball as he continues to decline while he's under contract through age 42? that contract is going to hurt the yankees for a long time
