just don't throw a straight fastball to duncan, all he's done since he was with the yankees is sit on fastballs. i was so upset with lackey last night when he threw him a fastball on a 0-2 count and it turned out to be the difference in the game

I don't know why Choo thought the 2nd strike was a bad call.

 

Only reason I can think of is that Martinez was set up off the plate and had to reach back over. But still, it caught a lot of the plate.

that was one of the best games of the year. beckett certainly looks like he's ready to roll and kalish continues to impress going 2-3

Good stuff. 5 back from the Yankees. This season isn't even close to over yet.

 

The pitching has to be extremely good the rest of the season for them to grab a playoff spot.

 

It's a shame this team has done so awful against the worst teams in the league this year.

i agree, our pitching has to step up these next two months. that start from beckett was a great sign though, he now has a 2.18 era since coming off the dl. if we can get him going along with lester and buchholz we'll have a real shot at a playoff spot

Lackey and Dice K are the key starting pitchers going forward in my opinion. I have confidence in Beckett because he's a big game type pitcher who will step his game up.

Also, why can't anyone pronounce Choo's name? I tuned into ESPN and they called him "Chin-Soo Choo".
