If you recall, Youk pulled-up lame during one of the Baltimore games (as he ran down the 1st base line).

Maybe this has something to do with it.

The problem is that you'll need to go .700 after everyone comes back. You wont get completely healthy until mid August.

The problem is you seem giddy about the Red Sox injuries. You just don't seem like one of those fans of a rival team that says "I want to beat the Red Sox at full strength." It was probably scary to you that the Red Sox looked real good before the injuries, despite you saying that this was the team you were least scared of since 2004.

And I don't think the Red Sox are going to have to make up much ground, I think they're gonna hang in it. They're also going to get some of these guys back after the All-Star break as well.

I have never been worried about the sox in terms of the regular season for this yr. The Yankees are making the playoffs. Book it. But, as an aside, I dont wish for injury, but this has almost become a comedy. Nobody seriously hurt, but just a bunch of 2-6 week injuries. If you are asking if I feel bad, absolutely not.

Why is he leaving?

He's not leaving, Whiskey said at the beginning that if the Sox lose due to db's lack of mojo, he'd be banned. Obviously, that's not going to happen, I was just joking based on Whiskey's repeated clever use of smiley's.

Before I am banned for life, let me, in my defense, make a case for temporary reassignment.

I didn't plan on Youk getting hurt as it was his spot in the order that ended the game. Though I probably should have.

I didn't plan on Tito pinch-running our only chance of getting a base hit (Cameron). Though, I probably should have as Niumann is a known slugger of epic proportions.

Let me just say that I have the solution for all of out problems and will arrange for said solution should I be allowed to stay. I know of a young player, switch hitter with power to all fields, speed up the line and a five tool player that has somehow stayed beneath the scouting radar. Of course, he's only five years old but in these thin times he's just as good a bet as Niumann.

What'd you say?

even with their injuries, the sox have been playing better than the yankees since their 4-9 start. unless the yankees bury the sox in the standings over the next month, the sox are going to continue to play better than the yankees when they get healhty and catch them in the standings. book it

Alright pal, agree to disagree. But, I will keep this one stashed away and get a heaping pile of crow ready for early October. BTW, I like how you included the caveat about the Yankees burying the Sox in the standings, then turn around and make a semi-bold prediction. Conviction son, you need some conviction!
