Someone keep this game in mind if the Sox miss out on the WC by a game.

Along with all our other losses.

I know I'm going to keep this one, and all the others, individually and severally in mind if we miss the WC by one game.

In other news, we won this series.

The run that scored on Beltre's error was the difference today.

Does UZR have a component which measures games lost by fielders?

NO

Our pitching that allowed 9 runs , including 4HR is the reason they lost the game

Incorrect. It was Beltre's (the latest of Theo's busts,FIRE THEO) fault. Not wakefield's or Delcarmen's.

This one is on JimEd

This we can all agree on.

Side point: does anyone ever game the gamethreads, so to speak? What I mean is, you see that we've got series coming up with Baltimore and Cleveland (with Buch and Lester on the bump to begin with, no less), so you say, "Good chance for a little run here... I'll start the next game thread!" Or is it supposed to be done dispassionately?

I couldn't watch the game due to work. I can't believe that the idiot third base coach is still getting guys thrown out at home and costing us wins. Weeks ago, after he cost us two wins, he should have been switched back to first base. Enough of that s***. This problem can be remedied very easily.

Who hired him?

Today's Globe on-line floated the idea that Wakefield may not have a lot more opportunities. They apparently have this kid Dubront primed and ready to go. If that's what the FO has been thinking, Wake may have hastened that move with today's performance.

The real problem today was the 2 runners thrown out at the plate' date=' especially the one that was out by a long shot with no f***ing outs. Unexcusable[/quote']

I was about to post this exact same thing. You only send a guy with none out if there isn't even going to be a play. Rob Thomson doesn't seem to understand this either, and it's very frustrating.

Actually, it was Theo's fault, because he hired him. /epictroll.

The Sox scored another run in the ninth, which means the difference is actually the back-to-back HRs given up by Delcarmen.
