Red Sox designated OF Jonathan Van Every for assignment.

The Red Sox don't really have a need for Van Every anymore with Jacoby Ellsbury and Mike Cameron on their way back and Darnell McDonald, Bill Hall and Jeremy Hermida also in the fold. Van Every was 4-for-19 (.211) with one home run in his most recent stint with the Sox.

 

With Angel Sanchez up here, I have to wonder with him actually a more defensive minded bench player than Hall is at 2b/ss... it might be Hall getting the DFA when Cameron comes back
