You are wrong..pitchers are babied to much.. he is at 100...Bard and Papelbon have been overused... Clay has been dominating tonight.. they have a few cheap hits and 2 hard hit balls all night.. All of Clay's pitches are still sharp...this game is over.. Nice CG Clay!

Who would you bring in Dipre?

Pitchers are babied with a reason. They're no longer making pennies, they're multi-million dollar investments who teams need to keep healthy.

And in this situation i try Bard to close it out with Oki (even though he's sucking, he's still getting lefties out at a decent clip) backing him up.

Now you have what's probably an unnecesary baserunner and a HR doesn't cut the lead, it ties the game.

Whoa. Calm the hell down. I was just saying that there's no reason to bring him out again when you can have someone else throw fifteen pitches and end the game. If he had a shutout going' date=' maybe, but he's up facing four guys in a row who have all four (now five) hits off of him. Why risk it? Why not go to the bullpen? Isn't that what a bullpen is for?[/quote']

That was written tongue in cheek.

Sheesh! I'm about done. How anyone could take that seriously is beyond me.

Wrong.. there is a trend in MLB to lose that ******** 100 pitch 1990's wimpy ass policy. Many teams have flushed that loser of a fad right down the toilet.

In over 90% of the time, managers don't bring a starter with 100 or more pitchers back out. It's not 1970. A bullpen is constructed to get these outs.

I don't always agree with the 'pull guys early' policy either. I was just saying that in this instance there was no reason to put him in again.

And what happened? He gave up a hit to the leadoff man and they pulled him. So now we have a runner on and the tying run at the plate instead of possibly being one out away from a win.

It was a broken bat single.. Seriously. Don't even.

Exactly. And not only that, but as i stated earlier, a HR no longer cuts the lead in half, it ties the game.

Really 90% ? Please give me a link to that statistic, especially when the pitcher has been as dominating as Clay tonight.

I don't need the stat, i WATCH THE GAMEZZZZZ!!!!!!

9 out of 10 times, an SP doesn't come back out with 100 or more pitches unless it's a rotation ace or the BP is completely burnt.

Now that I have found myself in agreement with DiPre, my only choices in life are ritual suicide or full-body acid wash.

Hmm...

Go with the acid wash. I hear that's about to make a comeback
