How do the Sox have more history with the Cardinals that the Royals?"

It made perfect sense for several generations to not play teams in the same city..

This is where I got that. Playing former World Series foes and same city opponents may be lame to you, but are exciting enough for many others. I don't think I was pissy, just expressing that I have no patience for someone who has no regard for an opinion besides her own.

I disagree with your opinion that doesn't mean I have no regard for it. You're the one coming off as mean and angry because someone has a differing opinion.

There is no rivalry between the Sox and Phillies. It's obvious. You can't create rivalry.

I don't know how this turned ugly, I guess people aren't allowed to disagree with you.

Anyone else starting to think YeOldHag is just a troll? Starts fights by overreactions, baits the fight along with arrogant remarks like "apologize for being pissy", then blaming the fight on the other person and blocking them, followed with a couple cheap shots. Seems like clockwork.

The Designated Hitter....

If you do away with the leagues, do you keep or dissolve the DH. The purists will say do away with the DH, without it you have 9 players on the field, not 8 and a pitcher. It requires more in game management, creating more excitment and it's the way the game was designed.

I disagree. I think it slows the game and decreases excitement because of the lowered offense. If they do away with the boundary between the leagues - I think all teams should get a DH.

Actually even if they keep the National/American as is - I think the DH should become a rule in both leagues.

You're the one calling me names and saying you don't give a crap about other teams, and that I should go out and buy an expensive mlb package to watch other teams. You made it personal, not me.

My opinion is that history is made by big games and World series rather than by beating up on Kansas City year after year. I'm not angry that you disagree but rather confused by the logic of it. 10 games against the Angels isn't enough? We play EVERY team in the AL in atleast two series, and every team in East 18 games a year.

I get that you don't like the unbalanced schedule-- I don't like it either-- but it is impossible to schedule a balanced interleague schedule with only 18 games in 5 team divisions. It only gets more complicated when looking at the different sizes of the Al West and NL Central divisions. Not to mention pitching matchups-- playing against San Francisco isn't a huge deal, but playing against Lincecum is.

No.. I never called you names I said you got pissy with me when I responded to your post. I said I got 10 games a day on Comcast - I never insinuated you needed to buy anything. I was just making the statement that I don't need interleague play to see teams in other leagues.

Well we're done with the Twins for the year after 5 game... we don't play each team two series, unless you mean one away and one at home and we haven't since they changed it to 18 games against each AL East opponent (which I also think is too much). OK we disagree on the word "history". I understand what you're saying about the Phillies but I just don't feel it's a rivalry and I don't think there's (my definition) a history there, There was a series - but I don't feel anything is relived when we play them during the season. I've watched the Royals/Twins/Tigers for 35 years and enjoy it... to me that's history.

All I can say... unless I want to repeat myself again is I disagree. :dunno:

I wish I had seen that before my post. I put her on ignore a second ago.

Well good now I have Dipre and Emmz on my ignore list... (unfortunately Emmz is now following me around the board - what fun! Obviously someone needs a new hobby)... And Palodios, on Emmz suggestion, (so awesome that I was able to read that, thanks for the quote Palodios) has me on ignore. Before long, not a discouraging word will be heard. BTW.. if you don't like me I think it's a great idea to put me on ignore. I'm doing that to people that I seem to have trouble not being able to stay out of "it" with and I heartily applaud you're doing the same. BTW.. Dipre, I really do like you, you just tend to bait and I can never resist and it ruins thread after thread.

You keep starting fights then blaming others for it, like in the above instance, which is textbook "baiting". Ruins thread after thread. (Someone please quote me).

YeAuldBraude' date=' I apologize. We stared off on the wrong foot. This is just a baseball forum, there's no use in us getting all upset over nothing. (Someone please quote me).[/quote']
