Yes.

Yes they're bouncing back. Yes they're getting lucky. Yes, it's probably too early to draw any conclusions.

I think it's still way too early, although I don't expect them to play the rest of the season they way they started off. Hopefully I'm wrong though...

In the last four games against the angels, they've won by an average of 5 runs per game. They've committed only 1 error in those games. On and on, the team is getting better and better, but they won't go anywhere if they can't take some ground on the Yanks/Rays in the head to head series.

I have maintained that this team is a 90+ win team as it is constructed. I am not optimistic about their playoff chances, but all they can do is win the games in front of them.

The pitching on this club is really, really good. The first few weeks it was hard to get a feel for what that would look like, but now it is as I imagined it would be. Unlike years past, the 5 pitchers seem to rotate through quickly. In the past it felt like it would take 2 weeks between Beckett/Lester starts, now it seems like there's a dominant pitcher on the mound every night. I'm still optimistic about Matsuzaka too, though that may be blind optimism more than anything.

Their offense is feast or famine. At home, these last 4 games, they had good swings and got back on track. They are a better club than what they have shown to this point. BUT, if they have another few week rut in the SP category, they are done. Their offense isnt strong enough to slug it out with teams on a regular basis

Dice-K sucks, that can be concluded any time during the year, Beltre is hot, that is lucky, he wont' be hitting like this all year. Red Sox rotation=bouncing back and pitching the way the should, which is a good sign that at least the rotation is going in the right direction, minus Dice-K

Beltre also won't keep hitting singles, you seem to have forgotten that. Cameron and Ellsbury will eventually come back, and Ortiz seems to be hating up. Dice-K's velocity is back, if he can throw some strikes, he'll be passable as a fifth starter.

On the flip side, McDonald, Hermida and the rest of the bench squad probably won't keep this up, but they'll probably begin to really cool down just as the starters arrive.

If they can take 2 of 3 from Yankees I will say they have bounced back in impressive fashion. That being said..they still are not as good as the Yankees or D-Rays and will not be until Ellsbury and Cameron return AND they go out and get a real bat for Papi.

If Dice-K can pitch the way he did the last 4 IP last night.. this team will be very hard to score on...even for the Yankees. I think Beckett will give a QS tonight and I think Hughes will get rocked. Hughes will have plenty of friends and family in the stands tonight and he is facing a VERY hot Sox lineup. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Sox take 2 of 3 this weekend...in fact, I expect them to.

Or are they just getting lucky? Or is it too early to say?

I am not sure yet, but it will help their case if they can play well against the Yankees. They need to be able to beat the good teams, not just the average teams. I am going to have to wait another week maybe two before I can decide if they are bouncing back yet.

If they struggle in early May, they're done?

Their offense, which is second in the majors in SLG isn't good enough to slug it out with other teams?

Save your propaganda for Yankees forums. It doubt many people here will find any use for it other than their laugh of the day.

If the Sox lose the next two to the Yankees, they will be 9 out in the loss column before reaching mid-May. That's not a very enviable position, and we can expect to catch s*** from Yankee fans on a daily basis until our team starts to show that it can compete. It would be nice to win the next two games to get the team some confidence and set them on a little roll.
