Just so you know, fielding percentage means nothing on Talksox. UZR is where it is at.

Get with the program.;)

In my mind fielding percentage means surer hands but it's obvious that Lowell has no range and Beltre does.

Beltre gets to balls that Lowell cant' date=' fielding% is a misleading stats at times.[/quote']

Not this season. So far.

And this is a good point. Obviously Lowell's degenerative hip condition limits his mobility and will continue to plague him.

However, Beltre has looked really bad for someone with Gold Glove skills.

And how many plays that Lowell can not make will cause the Sox to loose?

2 out walks' date=' my favorite.[/quote']

I prefer lead-off walks. Just makes things more interesting.

You know, walks are good.

... and when Beltre pulls his head out of his ass, how many runs will he save? He earned his golden gloves, I haven't got a friggin' clue why he's playing this bad. I think Lowell would make a great permanent DH and backup 1st and 3rd baseman.

Mike Lowell converted 70% of the balls hit into the 3B zone into outs last year.

Adrian Beltre is converting 77% of the balls hit into the 3B zone into outs this year.

I have no idea how many runs he may save. Hopefully more than he has sacrificed to date.

You've seen Lowell as much as I have. Has he ever made so many bone head plays as Beltre?

I'm not advocating for Lowell to have been the starting 3rd baseman, but clearly ( to date) Beltre has not been the answer.
