Figured I would make a separate topic to discuss this years draft.

The Pats have 12 picks and I fully expect them to make a couple of deals like they always do. The probly want to acquire a 3rd round selection.

I really hope they don't trade down or out of the 1st round. I'm tired of it.

IIRC' date=' they don't have a 2nd rounder. Probly want to trade down in the first and pick up a second in the process.[/quote']

Right, because the Patriots have the Jaguars 2nd rounder. The Jags would probably be better off trading down since we'd gain more from more picks than from fewer higher quality (and more guaranteed money) picks.

I'd love for the Jaguars to trade down for more picks. As long as we don't draft Tebow' date=' then I'll be happy.[/quote']

I actually think Tebow would be a great asset to just about any team.

He has incredible leadership, dedication, he is an outstanding athlete, and one of the best role models anyone could ask for.

I think he could be easily molded into a HoF athlete at whatever position he ends up playing.

Easy bud. I think he would be a great pick if he somehow made it to the late 2nd or early 3rd but someone will reach.

I'll put it this way. If the Jaguars draft Tebow at 10, then I'm switching teams. I'll probably switch to being a Patriots fan.

I'm afraid that they will draft Tebow in the 3rd round though.

Yeah I may have gone a little overboard with the hof stuff... but I'm still really impressed by him.

I think he'll do just fine in the NFL if someone gives him a chance.

Tebow may be a good athlete, but he is just not a fit with the Pats. Unless he drops to the lower rounds. That won't happen. Some dumb f*** will take him.

The Pats need DL/DE, OLB, LB, RB, WR. DB.

I would not be surprised to see the Pats trade out of or down in the first round. You know, looking for the best value.

I think that Whiskey was referring to the Jaguars' date=' and in any event, I'd disagree.[/quote']

Correct.

It's just that your QB's are so bad. Garrard is going to be in his mid 30's soon and he's not the kind of QB that's going to carry a team to the playoffs so I don't think much of him.

That's why it's important to get one next year. We have more important needs now and next year's draft is much deeper at QB. And I disagree/resent your first comment.

Sorry if I misinterpreted previous posts.

As such, disregard what I have said, other than what I perceive the Pats needs may be.

They probly pick around where they are this year' date=' [b']if not earlier[/b]. I was curious who the top 3 QB's of next years draft class would be/

Once again, I disagree. I think they fell quite a bit to end up where they were, so a s*** load would have to go wrong for the Jags to end up in the same spot as this past season. The only way I see us having a top 10 pick in the next draft is via a trade. Jake Locker is the consensus #1 QB, but I'm not sure how to rank the others.

Great, so he's the perfect guy to put in some nice inspirational TV spots for your team. Not sure if that's worth blowing a pick on in anything above round 4.

As long as the Jaguars take the Safety from Texas or one of the defensive ends (Morgan, Pierre-Paul) then I'll be happy. While I don't think that QB is close to our most important need, I wouldn't mind taking Claussen here.
