Pretty much. That's less than what Posada cost the Yankees last year. You say it's ridiculous...but it's 1.2 runs right now.

The team in the long run.

 

What kind of knowledge anyone expects to gain from a team's performance in early April, after playing 3 of 4 series against cream of the crop teams, when their starting pitching has started lukewarm at best the past couple of seasons, I have no idea.

There is so much overreacting right now that its almost funny, its way to early to tell where this team will finish. We started 2-5 last year and still made the playoffs and we started the season this year against 3 solid teams and one bad team (which we still took 2/3 from on road). Half the lineup is off to a slow start and Lester has yet to have a good start.

 

Do you guys really think Lester, Drew, Youk, V-mart and even guys like Cameron and Buchholz will continue to struggle this much? I don't, its April and everybody needs to chill. If we start losing numerous games to teams like Baltimore then we can start panicking.

It all depends how much you want to credit the catcher for good pitching, or blame the catcher for bad pitching. It's all very arbitrary, and you can't prove causation.

Are fans over-reacting? Yes. This is a good team. I believe that it is poorly constructed, but it is strong enough in all aspects to be a contender. What has me pissed off is not the slow cold start, but the fact that they are giving away games through bad fundamentals and bad defense. That is inexcusable. They gave away two games this weekend to the Rays. Those games could decide the final playoff spot. That's just inexcusable, and that is not an over-reaction.
