I'd normally agree' date=' but there are some offers out there that are so bad and retarded that they are insulting. Heck, I got kicked out of another league because I told the commissioner to go f*** himself after he gave me what I still consider the worst offer I have ever seen. And I didn't feel like rejecting offers 3 times a week.[/quote']

You've mentioned this a couple times. Just out of curiosity, what was the offer?

It always amuses me how so many people feel insulted if they get a trade offer they don't like.

Turn it down or counter, but don't take it so personally. It's not as if some girl told you your dick was too small...

My reaction was nothing personal towards you. But really, people think that because I'm a Yankee fan I'm ignorant or something. Yours wasn't the first trade offer I got where I would have been getting a few Yankees, while getting f***ed on the overall trade in the meantime.

Seriously though, did you bother to look at any of the numbers before you hit the send button?

Prince Fielder, Phil Hughes, and Nick Johnson for Miguel Cabrera, Choo, and Polanco? Not that I wouldn't mind getting my hands on Hughes, or that Nick Johnson's OBP doesn't appeal to me (that's about the only thing that does), but I'm already in last place. I need to work on improving my team (especially after missing the draft), not taking a step back.

What do you want for Mo though? lol

While I can understand you feeling frustrated that somebody else doesn't value your player as much as you do, it's not exactly a challenge to your manhood. It's just a silly game. And how much effort does it take to reject three offers a week?

I'd much rather a league where the owners are engaged enough to make trade offers, good and bad, than a league that is dead and uncompetitive.

My point Rhet, is that I hate retarded offers through the internest. It's one thing to have a complete misperception of value, but it's another to harass other owners with horrible offers that they know will have no chance to be accepted. My problem isn't as much with the offers themselves as much as the fact that the offers are sent without prior communication. I would greatly prefer to message, email, or aim the other party and have a discussion or negotiation before working out a trade. In that event, if someone gave a bad offer to kick the tires, it's quick and easy to say no, but to send the same offer out of the blue as if it were a final draft is bogus.

Besides, when someone repeatedly gives bad offers it's tempting to block trades from them entirely. It's not about not being active, but avoiding annoyances. On one hand, I shouldn't necessarily take all ridiculous offers personally, but on the other, when you've rejected so many trades from particular people (not referring to this league) then it's frustrating and it makes you not want to even read offers from that person. It's more about the principle of the thing. I'm sure that I am not able to articulate where I am coming from to you Rhet, but I'm sure that somebody else understands where I am coming from.

A few notes....

First of all, I would like to thank all of the owners for being active. Secondly, it doesn't take much to reject an offer. I commend the entire league for being active.

However, if you get a bad trade offer, there is a box there that you can put in your comments. It is often difficult for someone to gauge the importance of certain players.

For example, in another league, I was offered Beckett and Furcal for Arod. I responded back "First of all, I wouldn't take a Red Sox pitcher as long as Martinez is the catcher. Secondly, if I make the trade, I have no 3B as I do not have a backup".

I'm not by any means requiring anyone to write a letter to the team making the trade offer. However, a little note like that will either speed things up on the trade front, or help limit useless offers.

Again, thanks to all for making this a fun league.

The only question is whether Fielder is going to continue to suck. If you think he will, you're right, that deal is bad for you. But if you think he's going to hit like he did the last few years, it's a good deal for you. Hughes has ace stuff and you're trading your backup 2nd baseman.

Mo can be had for another closer and a bat.

Javier Vasquez and Octavio Dotel for Pablo Sandoval. I have Sandoval.

If the assumption was that Vasquez was going to strike out guys like he did last year, I don't think that was a bad offer at all.

The trade looks just as bad now as it did at the time. Dotel is one of the weakest/worst closing options and Javier Vasquez, while generally a good pitcher, cannot replicate his ATL numbers in the launching pad formally known as Yankee Stadium. Yeah, he'll help in K's, and that's about it.

I'd spit on the offer if it weren't on my computer screen. It was worth getting kicked out of the league for telling the commissioner to go f*** himself because all he's ever done in every one of his leagues is make bulls*** offers, repeatedly. I think I made my point.

While I'm at it, there are even more things wrong with this trade. First of all, in a 2 for 1 deal, I'd have to drop someone, and I'd end up dropping Dotel anyway, so it would be a Sandoval for Vasquez swap which is appalling.

Second of all, in a multiple keeper league (next year it will be 5 keepers), the commissioner is simply trying to trade up to get another keeper for the following year, in addition to ripping me off with the trade.

That's in addition to all the other s*** wrong with the deal that I mentioned earlier.

Bottom line is this: with both Dotel and Vasquez s***ing the bed this year, it looks like your instincts were right.

That fat lug I traded left me an 0-for-5 as a going away present today.

Hope you have better luck with him than I did, Suns.

Anyone that you're shopping in particular? What are you looking for?

You can't stand not having the most amount of trades in the league, can you?

No I can't. It kills me.

I'm shopping everyone, but particularly Aramis Ramirez, who's starting to heat up. Looking for an OF or SP/RP.

And that is????

It's inaccurate. For example, I won last week 9-1 because I faced the worst team in the league. Now, Rhet's Pets is beating Red Oyster Cult (both thus far good teams) by a margin of 8-2, and I would be beating Rhet's Pets 9-0-1, and Red Oyster Cult 9-1. And Fawal, who I lost the previous week 3-7, I'd be beating 8-2 this week. Granted, the week is incomplete, but it's enough to make me lament the fact that I benched JD Drizzle in both of my leagues.

I'm sorry, I spent a couple hundred dollars on a chick (who is my girlfriend) and she did not put out, so I'm rather angry. While the injustices of fantasy sports are enough to frustrate me on a regular basis, they are not enough to make me this frustrated. My apologies for flying off the wall. I'm sure that I am being punished for some kind of kharma (probably doing that chick's sister) and that the crappy schedule in fantasy baseball is a direct result of it.
