EDIT: One of my friends was right there at the game. He said it happened right in front of him and he knew instantly something was wrong.

Yeah, he was really highly touted out of college, he was actually expected to be a top 10 pick. Sucks for him, he looked like the real 5 tool deal. Hopefully he comes back from it

Silver lining to this (for Red Sox fans) is it pretty much eliminates the White Sox as a serious bidder on Adrian Gonzalez.

Hopefully he comes back from it[/quote']Yeah, you hate to see anyone get injured, but it's especially bad when you lose the development time for a prospect like Mitchell.

 

Also, ankle injuries like that are real tough to come back from. When he was with the White Sox, Robin Ventura had a similar injury. It took him a long time to fully recover. He did joke about it though, saying that at least it didn't affect his speed (you didn't need a stopwatch to time him running to first, you needed an hourglass ).

Sucks to hear that about Mitchell. Watched him a bunch of times while playing at LSU. He is the real deal.

 

Agree with Jacko on Beckham being a must on the Adrian Gonzalez deal.
