This league is a snooze-fest. I stopped making offers. No one even counters deals. f*** it...my team is good enough to win it all right now.

I'm telling you guys, right now is the time to offer me trades for Heyward. You can probably get him from me for good value. Wait too long, and I'll ask for more for him. He's already starting to move up in the Braves' lineup.

Truth be told, I'm not even sure I want to trade him. But for the right SP (we're talking about a solid #3 Fantasy SP here), he can be yours.

My guess is you'll be holding on to him for quite some time, lol.

I would be fine with that. Heyward will probably be starting for me on a regular basis before long. I firmly believe he could have a better year than Bobby Abreu, who is one of your starting OFs.

You firmly believe he could have a better year....

Um...ok.

So you're saying if I offered you Abreu for Hewyard straight up, you'd decline it?

Probably not. However, there are some legitimate concerns regarding Abreu:

"Can Abreu’s aging body hold up to another year of playing in the field everyday? Abreu will be 36 on Opening Day and by all reports is in great shape, but old is old and sooner or later his age is going to catch up with him. He showed some real signs of wear and tear in the second half of last season (see his August OPS of .655 as an example) and could probably have benefited from moving to DH this season but that definitely won’t be happening now that Hideki Matsui is in place. Bobby has played 151 or more games in every season since 1998, so he is certainly durable, but that doesn’t mean he is invincible.

Where did Bobby’s power go? Last season Bobby Abreu’s power seemed to dry up almost entirely as he finished the season with just 29 doubles, 15 home runs and an ISO of .142, easily the lowest ISO of his 12 full professional seasons. Abreu hit just one homer in his first two months as an Angel, but he did finish on an uptick to close the season by posting ISOs of .170 or higher in three of the final four months, much more in line with his typical production. So which Abreu will the Angels get in 2010?"

Meanwhile, you can't deny Heyward's upside. He's been compared to Griffey. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Abreu's floor this season, which is certainly lower than Heyward's ceiling.

I'd take Abreu for Heyward in a heart beat. Yes, Abreu is at the end and Heyward is the future, but we keep these players only for one season. It's unlikely that Heyward will put up as many fantasy point this year as Abreu.

Exactly right.

Picking up C.J. Wilson looked like a really good move a few days ago. He was scheduled to face the Guardians in Cleveland. Perfect time for a spot start and a test run. He gets the stomach flu and now he has to face the Yankees at Yankee Stadium. This blows.

Umm...two trade proposals, sent out a week ago, and not a single response.

Pretty sad.

I'm thinking that it's not a good omen. ;)

Ok, I lost week 2 by a score of 9-0. I feel better now. I usually don't start making my run until the second week of May.

See you in the Finals, SFOC.

Don't know about this trade between you and Bulldogs, Gom.

Bulldogs is getting an upgrade at 1B with Morales over Helton.

Gom is getting a huge upgrade with Verlander over Jorge De La Rosa. Yes, De La Rosa has pitched well since the All-Star Break, but he has never even approached 200 innings before. He's also unproven and pitches in Coors. Verlander will beat him in every FB category, except for maybe Ks. Maybe.

Gom is also getting a huge upgrade with Granderson over Aardsma. Granderson is an everyday player with a good track record and a short porch in right field. Aardsma is possibly a one-year wonder closer with a bad track record.

Seems like Gom is definitely getting the better deal here. I'd like to hear what others think.

It's a trade of need on both sides. He gets a huge upgrade with Morales, and I personally think the difference between Morales and Helton dwarfs Verlander and De La Rosa. Granderson I want as a Yankee, and MSU has had one or two saves total. Aardsma gives him a dominant relief corps. Both of our teams improve. I could afford Morales, and he could afford Verlander. He has the strongest staff in the league, with Lester, Halladay, Buchholz, Marcum, Wolf, etc.

Another note...this league is a bit of a snoozefest. Maybe a couple of trades will shake things up a bit.

Posted
Gom is a very shrewd trader. He got the best of this deal by a long shot. Aardsma sucks and only contributes to one category. Granderson will help with runs, RBI, total bases and SB. The upgrade at first over Helton is not worht the hit taken on the other two-thirds of the deal.

Unless this trade is FIXED, there's no reason to veto this trade

Bulldogs can run his team the way he wants , if he feels that makes his team better than let him do the trade .

Posted
Gom is clearly getting more value than Bulldogs. I think that is reason enough to vote against it, but that's just me.

Is there a way I can get a refund for the league?

This trade got vetoed, and it's ********. There is zero activity in this league, and I have trades for two f***ing weeks and not even the courtesy of a response.

SFOC, let me know.

You've got the best team. Why would you look to quit?

Because vetoing this trade was ********. I honestly don't care about winning or losing. I enjoy the negotiation of trading most of all.

If a deal that improves both teams is vetoed, and there is little to no activity in the league, and people don't even have the courtesy of declining a deal, then what's the point?

If I can't get a refund, then anyone send me any proposal. I will accept it. Who knows, you might get lucky.

As league commish, SFOC, you should have jumped in here.
