Theo's pre-season has been flawless, discounting the Lowell issue.

Adding not one, but two, African Americans to the roster certainly takes the heat off the front office. They clearly didn't want a repeat of the criticism they took all last year.

Not that it matters, but didn't they add three? (Beltre, Cameron, Hall).

Beltre is Dominican.

I don't see what leg those people have to stand on anyways, most racists that hate black people, hate them because of their color so it doesnt matter if they are american, candadian, dominican, columbian, etc etc.

Thanks for correction, I wasn't 100% sure what race Beltre was considered, but as I said before I don't see why it matters what race the players on the team are. If they help the Sox win, I don't care if there American, Dominican, African american, Japanese, Mexican, it doesn't matter too me.

Well, after last year, it certainly matters to the front office.

Yeah, or they just acquired Cameron because he's a steal and they traded for Hall becuase they needed a backup infielder.

Did something happen last year I'm not aware of? As far as I know all that happened is that one writer made an article that basically said, "I'm not saying the Red Sox are racist or anything but they don't have a black player and they may have traded Lugo because he's latino" and it was the laughing stock of baseball forums for a couple weeks.

Betre's Dominican. If he counted' date=' Ortiz counted and none of these people would have had a leg to stand on.[/quote']

Domincan is a nationality, not a race. It's really up to Beltre what race he wants to be. I have dark skinned friends form the Carribean and some of them identify as latino and others identify as black.

Posted
The race thing is such a non-issue. The Red Sox did not get Cameron and Hall because they are black. That's absurd.

Cameron was the best CF in the market, and Hall is an excellent utility player. That's the reason they got them.

Posted
While I agree they got both players based on their expected contribution to the team, it would be naive to think the front office wasn't sensitive to the race of the players. They know the history of the team and city.

Crap for Crap

seriously? first of all that post is crap, second of all maybe you should keep your condecending yankee troll comments to yourself if thats really what you believe.

This team really is all about versatility

Youk can play 1st & 3rd on a gold glove level, he could even play left field if the Sox are ailing at any point. Cameron, Ellsbury and Drew all are able to slide to another OF position. V-Mart can play catcher and 1st. Scutaro can play ss, 2b and 3b.. and now they have Hall who can play most of the infield as well as the outfield

Definitely a plus. Versatility is always good.

Crap for Crap

Though, if it allowed us to get Beltre for $2 million. It worked.

Hey' date=' you hear that Jacko? Yankee homers! You'll feel right at home![/quote']

Said that both the Yankee bullpen and Starting Rotation are Far better than the Sox.

They only had Papelbon, Oki, Delcarmen as our bullpen. lol

I read the Compare the Players. lol. Guy is such a homer.

I just read that because it was first thread I saw. Yankees and Red Sox rotation even? lol. I like the fact that he says Bonser is in the rotation and doesn't even mention Buchholz name.

Posted

Boof Bonser sucks ass. Now anyways.

Even? LOL, it's not even close. Lester and CC are close, but Beckett and Lackey OWN Burnett and Pettite. Dice-K is probably going to give you a better year than Vasquez too even, if not, I'll admit it's pretty close. Buchholz is better than Joba and Hughes too.

Seriously, it's not even close. The Red Sox's rotation>>>>>>>>>Yankees'.

Jacko seems to think Vasquez is going to be a number two or something. Absolutely ridiculous.

ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL. He said Cano and Pedroia are even, and that Swisher and Drew are even LOL!

And I'm pretty sure our rotation and bullpen is superior to theirs too. WOW!

What a bunch of homers!
