Yankees are so set up to sign Cliff Lee next offseason.

Coming off the books:

Andy Pettitte: $11.75

Javier Vazquez: $11.5

Only a Yankee fan would list the salary they just put on the books as coming off the books and talk about how it all sets you up for the shiny new bauble next year. Yeah, you can buy anyone, but Tyler is kind of typical (hey Tyler, do you post on an Angels blog too? You seem to be on Angelswin.com sometimes)

Vazquez is their #4

LHP Sabathia

RHP Burnett

LHP Pettitte

RHP Vazquez

RHP Chamberlain/Hughes

People are going to be fooled if they think Pettitte will really be 2009 Pettitte.

If Zambrano' date=' Lowe or Bonderman is the Yanks 5th! starter, the Red Sox are in deep doo doo.[/quote']

Judging by this post and your most recent post in this thread, sounds like you're off the ol' Sox bandwagon. If you fell off, that is

LOL.. It wasn't the 1st thing I thought off after the trade, probably the 3rd. Vazquez will likely be a Type-A free agent after this season.

and yes I do sometimes post at Angelswins.com, under the same name.

Besides CC and Burnett, the Yanks rotation doesn't impress me. I really don't think Petitte will do as well as he did last year, unless the man is just a freak or he gets back on the HGH. I've said all I can say about the crappyness of Vazquez, and I think the Yanks wouldn't be smart to put back Hughes or Joba in rotation. 7-8-9 Hughes, Joba, Mo is the best trio of relievers I have seen if they repeat for a whole year what they did last year in the pen.

Yup, because it's not relevant or important at all...

Even with Vazquez I'd love to see the price on Zach Duke. If we can get him cheap or should I say less than expensive I'd do it and see if theres interest on Vazquez plus salary. Perhaps the Dodgers would be interested.

Zach Duke would get absolutely destroyed in Yankee stadium.

We're talking about a guy who doesn't strike out anyone (4.57 career K/9), and although he has some groundball tendencies, he's wildly inconsistent, and sported a 1.3 whip last year even with a .296 BABIP. In the NL central. Vasquez is a completely superior pitcher.

I agree. I like Duke, but I wouldn't want him on the Yankees.

And the Sox have $55 million coming off the books.. your point being?

Josh Beckett's $10 million, Wakefield is not set in stone to be in rotation for 2011 and Clay could very well be traded

Your picture makes you look like a complete douche bag. Just saying.

As right as you are, isn't that sort of against your anti-swear philosophy?

That's right Lester82, I'm not into bandwagons and I don't shill for the front office.
