So in OT alone:

1. Charge on Patterson (not called)

2. Wall fouled when it wasn't a foul

3. A blatant goaltend not called (in UK's favor of course)

Dear SEC officials: rot in hell.

I have issues with two and three.

Two was questionable. It was a bit soft, but it appeared that contact with Wall's hand had a legitimate effect on the shot, so I don't think it's fair to say it wasn't a foul.

Three was a bad call, but it's unfair to call it blatant. It's a bang bang call, and one that can easily be missed. It's enough to say it's a bad call, but I think adding the word 'blatant' to it is an exaggeration.

So in regulation

Varnado gets a and 1 when Wall didn't even touch him.

They shouldn't have called Cousins if you didn't want the call me sign.

You just hate UK when they are good.

 you're really arguing with the officials? I can't remember a road team getting literally every single call like this in a close game.

Wake me up when this UK team beats a quality opponent. They aren't doing anything in March.

They went to OT against a middling SEC team missing it's 2 best players. Wall meanwhile getting the Lebron treatment. Breathe on him and you're whistled.

This UK team is just so easy to dislike. Wall and Cousins are bitches laughing at the crowd exiting the arena and flashing gang signs. Lucky they didn't get jumped down there.

The fans threw s*** tonight at the officials because they were utterly incompetent. If you don't want stuff thrown at you, do your job, like Jay Bilas said these guys are getting paid to do this job - do it right.

I'm pretty sure once Cousins had his 4th foul he could have just hung on the opponents rim the rest of the game blocking shots and not been called for a single goaltending violation or a technical.

John Wall balls soooooo f***ing hard. Kid is going to be a stud.

The "charge" on Patterson was a block. I thought it was a charge initially, but I rewound it and it was most definitely a block.

I'm assuming the "Wall foul" was on his jumper when he got hit on the hand? If that's what you're speaking of, he definitely got hit. People don't miss shots that short that bad.

That block for Wall was a goaltend. I can see why you would make that mistake though, it was so close. I thought something like that was reviewable though?

And why is Cousins a bitch for doing the call me sign? Whoever leaked his number and were calling him are really the bitches.

That was an extremely ticky call. Do we get that on the road @ Kentucky? Hell naw.

That was a ridiculous call. I know my emotions are in play here, but that was your basic goaltend violation. You absolutely cannot miss that at that time of the game. Everything changes if they call that. But, it's Kentucky. I guess I should've known better.

Just in general, I'm getting sick and tired of the SEC's constant ******** officiating in every sport. I'm sorry, but tonight was a joke. It truly sucks not being one of the big boys and benefitting from the help they tend to receive from time to time.

It's too bad, isn't it? Cousins deserves a brick to his face. He's such a bitchass.

Glad to know we were both watching the same game. I know powerhouse teams usually get the calls, but this was a complete joke tonight. Literally every call went to UK. But hey, it's the SEC. Help out the big boys is how it works down here. Ridiculous.

Tonight's officiating crew should be suspended. We know that won't happen though.

Here's a fun stat from OT of the MSU/UK game. 9 fouls called on MSU, 0 called on UK. Could this be any more blatant?

To put into perspective how incredible 9 fouls called on one team is in five minutes, over a 40 minute game that paces out to 72 fouls

:dunno:

You know another good stat? Mississippi State commits the least amount of fouls of anyone in Division 1, which equals out to around just 13 per game.

This is a tough one to swallow. Real tough.

Tennessee, Uconn, UNC, louisville?

Who is your team Coach?

Mississippi states shoots mostly jumpers so they dont get very many fouls called. UK is really aggressive.

I would probably do the "call me" sign too if I was getting a text every f***ing time I missed a free throw or made a mistake in-game. He probably had 400 text messages after last night, and that's probably being conservative.

Looking back I don't think the "call me" thing is that huge of a deal, but it just irked me seeing Cousins do it last night because he's a POS to begin with. He's an immature little prick and has been all season long. His antics grow old really quick. The best comparison I can come up with is he's like Joakim Noah 2.0 with his antics on the court. A great talent no doubt, but still a douche bag.

He'll be at kentucky one year, then you can go watch him in the NBA.

By the way, you did not hate joakim noah as much as me.

So, even though this season has been a complete embarrassment for UConn, as I sit here typing I really do think they have an outside shot at being an at-large team in this field.

Obviously the key is winning 3 of their last four games at a minimum. That will put them at 19-12, with a Big East conference mark of 9-9. If they win one game in the Big East tournament (most likely against a team like South Florida or Rutgers, whom they handled pretty easily last night, then that would put tham at 20 wins with a guaranteed .500 record in the conference. Add in the fact that they have the #1 SOS, and you could be looking at a team that sneaks its way in.

If they win Monday, I really think you can put them as one of the last teams in the field.

Jarvis Varnado = all time NCAA shot block leader (536)

The best shot blocker ever. He is a class act and a fantastic player. So glad he could do it at home too. He had 18 points, 10 boards, and 8 blocks tonight.

Although stats weren't started until 1970, pretty sure Bill Russell or Wilt would still hold that record.

No question he should be the defensive player of the year though.

GO DIE TONY GREENE!!!

Relax, it's not like it's the first game that Kentucky deserved to lose. Surprisingly it's only their second loss. Kentucky is still in very good shape and this loss may piss them off enough that they go on a tear in the tournament. Who knows?

Did you watch the game ital?

Of course, I'd always watch big games, especially when a ranked team is about to get upset. I love watching those games. And I know what you're talking about, I just think that Kentucky would have lost anyway so there's no use getting upset about it. (Pun intended).

Kentucky will be fine. I wish my team only had 2 losses. Regardless of how many times they deserved to lose.

What a day so far! Both #1 and #2 go down. It's hard to believe, but Syracuse is now playing for a No. 1 ranking against Villanova tonight.

Even if both Syracuse and Purdue win this weekend (Purdue vs MSU tomorrow), there's no way Purdue can be #1. They don't have the resume UK, KU, and SU have and lost their best player.

This has been one of the worst sports weekends for me. Every team I wanted to lose ended up winning (Notre Dame, Xavier, Syracuse, Ole Miss, Miss State, Marquette, Oklahoma State) and the one team I wanted to win (Uconn) ended up losing in the final seconds vs. Louisville. Not to mention my NBA team losing and team USA losing to Canada in hockey, this hasn't been my sports weekend. I must have run over a car filled with babies and puppies that took out a homeless shelter and veterans hospital. Kharma is a b****.

Syracuse looked like the Jamaican 4x100 relay team on Saturday evening running Nova off the floor.

The SEC has 2 very good teams in KY and Tenn,Miss State is decent too.

The Big 10 has Ohio and MichSt, neither of which overly impress.

The ACC has nobody, sure theyll give Duke another # 1 seed but they really arent that good and Maryland took them out last night fairly easy, Duke and Wake are the 2 ACC teams that have any potential, the others are just bad this year...The East on the other hand looks like they could have anywhere between 8-10 clubs in the tourney with UConn needing to do some real damage in the East Tourney or they may not make the dance at all.

Out west you got BYU, Zaga and New Mexico?? None appeal to me at all.

The top 4 Ive seen are Ky, Kansas,Syracuse and ....f*** i dont know, maybe Nova if Reynolds is on?

Its a wide open year for many a team, could be the hardest brackets ever filled out with nobody really standing out..

Yeah, so the #23 ranked team is "just bad?"

Maryland has better overall record and conference record yet Wake Forest has "potential" but Maryland is "just bad?"

How does that work?

UK is clearly the best in the SEC, but after them Vandy is a clear cut #2 I think. Tennessee is streaky, just like Mississippi State is. UK and Vandy are very consistent. I'm not even sure my Bulldogs are going to make the NCAAT this year. Still got work to do.

As for the ACC, Duke is very good but they aren't a Final Four threat. I just don't see it. I think Maryland has a decent chance to make a deeper NCAAT run than Duke actually.

I wish that I could kick every UCONN player in the balls right now. They just played themselves out of the tournament, and they are a better team than most of the teams they lost to (ie Michigan, Cincinnati, South Florida, Providence, Notre Dame) and even though they got screwed in their fair share of games (Louisville, Marquette, Syracuse, Kentucky) there's no excuse in losing to so many s***** teams. I'm fed up with this season so I'm not even going to fill out a bracket this year. The only thing that is moderately decent in this sports world is that Syracuse is losing--albeit in the one scenario that I would consider rooting for them.
