How is that better for the NBA than Lakers/Celtics?

Who outside of Phoenix or Boston would care about a Suns/Celtics NBA Finals?

The Magic are the better team' date=' and when you have that team down on the floor, you gotta put the foot on the throat.[/quote']

I know the series is over, but why do you say the Magic are the better team? I would've disagreed with you before the East Finals had even started, and I think the Celtics clearly showed who was the better team.

The series has a lot of match ups which will dictate how the series turns out. Will Pierce be able to score off of Artest? Artest has defended him well in the past, and as we saw against the Cavs, when Pierce as a top defender on him, he can be shut down. I think Pierce will be pretty ineffective for the series with Artest covering him. The C's did a great job on Kobe last time they met up, but some of that credit has to go to James Posey, I'm not sure Ray Allen, Tony Allen and Co. can keep Kobe down for an entire series. I think he'll go off and drop at least 40 in a couple games and lead the Lakers to victory by himself in those games. I think Rondo will own Fisher, depending on his injury to his back of course. Lastly, KG vs. Gasol. Gasol was soft in 08, but he has toughened up a lot since then and has become one of the best big men in the game. With an again KG on him who can't play as good as defense, I think there will be times when Gasol can take over the game. I think Gasol will be able to stop KG, but right now he doesn't have to b/c KG's shot vanished for most of the Orlando series.

One Big Key is also how Rondo does. I think the Lakers will have Kobe on Rondo. Kobe hates running through screens and that is why he doesn't want Allen who uses screens on almost every play.

I'm not too sure. I think the Celtics are a better team than they were two years ago, but as are the Lakers. The Celtics have been very tough to get a read on all year, and I still really have no idea of what the outcome of this series will be in any shape or form. I just know it's going to be an unbelievable series.

Lakers in 5. I really don't believe in this Celtics team at all. Their regular season leads me to believe this is just exactly the kind of team that sneaks its way into an Eastern Championship only to get stoned by the Lakers.

The regular season means nothing. When the celtics were healthy they were 23-5. Their health fell apart and so didn't their record. The are healthy again, now they are kicking ass in the playoffs. If you think the Celts are going to fall apart and loose in five because of their regular season then you just don't understand NBA basketball.

This series is 2-3-2 so the Celts are at a disadvantage before the first tap.

If the Celts can take one in L.A. and then two of three in Boston, they will most likely prevail.

Low post play will be paramount. Perk, Garnett, and Sheed must outplay Gasol. Koby will be huge. But he won't win this series by himself.

The Celts are a little banged up. Not good.

It's seemed like every small bounce has gone the Lakers way tonight. Their shots on the rim are rolling in, ours are bouncing out. The loose balls are falling their way, not ours. I really think this game shouldn't be this close right now..

List 10: Ten excuses Celtics fans will use if they lose to the Lakers

Suggested by @AmandaRykoff, also known as "Company Woman Amanda" from the podcast

1. Kobe got all the calls. And his fingers weren't hurt enough. Or his toes. I don't know. Kobe sucks.

2. Rondo was banged up, and everyone knows you can't win a championship with three future Hall of Famers if your fourth-year point guard has muscle spasms.

3. The Lakers stole Gasol! Rip-off trades should only happen when a beloved former power forward becomes the GM of another team.

4. Simmons jinxed us.

5. The tech/ejection/suspension on Rasheed/ KG/Perkins is because the refs are out to get them, not because they're crazy and/or jerks who have complained about every call ever. (Not gonna lie -- Artest doesn't do well in this category either. But at least we only got one crazy).

6. If we aren't going to get a 38-to-10 free throw advantage like we did in Game 2 of 2008, how does anyone ever expect us to win?

7. Wait, they're still playing? I jumped off the bandwagon last year. OK, I'm back! I never bailed! Celtics forever! What? They lost? Why does this always happen to me?

8. Fisher is a dirty player. That's KG's move!

9. Gasol flops too much. That's KG's move!

10. Pierce got confused on which injury to fake.

Lol.

Don't wanna call game 2 a must win but it's really, really close to being that way. Rondo and KG need to step it up. And hit some damn 3's tonight please.

Taking Boston and the under tonight.

I'm sticking to my original assessment. This series will be won in the low post. Like game one. Maintain position in the key and control the defensive board. Do not allow second shots. Create transition and spacing in the offense.

The 1st quarter of game one was telling. It was very psychical. While the refs "seemed' to call the game in favor of the Lakers, they were just trying to keep the game from getting out of hand. The Celts need to bang the boards, play good man to man defense, and run.

Threes are exciting, but playoff games are won by possession of the ball.

Force less than good shots and control the boards.

Celt's have to win tonight or be faced with sweeping the three games in Boston and winning one of two in L.A..

I googled to find confirmation of this, and I found something even better.

True. What I meant was actually hit at least some of the 3's they attempt. Going 1-10 isn't going to cut it like game 1.

Celtics got to come out better for this game and work for it. They need to work for the rebounds, what killed the C's in game 1 was Gasol getting those easy put backs off of offensive rebounds. We need Rondo to have a good game, when he plays well, it seems like the C's as a whole play well. KG needs to make an attempt to get to the hoop against the Gasol and play better defense on him tonight...... right now the Celtics are hitting their shots, Rasheed and Allen are on fire and the C's are up 7 after the 1st by 7
