actually Hardy's OBP this year is 25 points higher than Gonzo's this year so he is better in literally every facet of the game, and I imagine if he came to the sox where hed probably be batting 8th or 9th he would get better pitches and probably learn some plate discipline, of course that might only be enough to take off the edge that comes from moving from the NL to ALE but I still think it would make it possible to raise that OBP to .350 (assuming he gets his stroke back) and like its been stated before Hardy at his worst>Gonzo at his best, and Hardy is only 27.

If we can get JJ Hardy, I'd take him over Gonzo. But this thread is strictly about Gonzo's success as a hitter since coming here, not who is better. This is besides the fact that I already admitted Hardy was the better player.

 

I just don't see getting JJ Hardy as an easy goal and I bet there could even be a better shortstop than him. I mean, JJ Hardy isn't everything... neither is Gonzalez.

 

I'm not depicting Gonzo as a superior shortstop, all I've been saying is that since he's come here, he's been hitting. His BA (which I look at, yes OBP is very important, but I still look at BA) is great since he has come year. We know it is a small sample size, we know it won't last, but since he's been here he's made the best of his time and done great IMO.
