Weeks? You mean the guy who has barely held onto the 2b job then got injured for the season. Last I checked, he was in the discussion of being moved to the OF. Gamel is a 3b/1b who also plays some OF, and if Fielder gets moved, he could be the 1b for the Brewers. McGehee is a guy who earns a spot, but isnt given one. You just dont get it as usual. The Brewers have a long line of guys who havent earned s***, while Hardy actually had a good resume until he imploded this yr. They dont HAVE to move him.

"Barely" held the 2b job? He had an .857 OPS and was in the middle of a career year when the injury occurred!

Plz check the stats Jacko.

Gamel has 0 range in the OF. kthx.

McGeehee can hit, and he'll be competing with Gamel for the 3B regular spot.

Again, please check the stats before you look like an idiot.

Can someone use the table here please?

He's not even a sox prospect so the table doesnt apply there skippy. That being said, you are missing the point as usual. THEY DONT HAVE TO DEAL HIM. I think they will, but THEY DONT HAVE TO DEAL HIM. And stop pretending like you know anything about the Brewers prospects, cause you dont.

The table will need some work.
Topic|Team|Content

Prospect|Yankees|The player in question is made of 150% pure awesomeness. Fear us.

Prospect|Sox|He could be good, but this is why he won't be.

Signing|Yankees|This is the missing piece. We'll win 160 games, and the umps will screw us out of 2.

Signing|Sox|Risky move, overpaid here, they'll regret this.

Injury|Yankees|They don't get hurt. Hypothetically, if they did, the recovery will be speedy with no impact to ability.

Injury|Sox|Everyone is a ticking time bomb. Once hurt, they'll never heal right.

Pending FA|Yankees|He will surely sign with the Yankees, or if not, good riddance to bad rubbish

Pending FA|Sox|He will reject any deal with Boston and sign with New York

Potential trade|Yankees|The team in question will be glad to turn this guy over to us for middling pieces

Potential trade|Sox|Say goodbye to multiple Top 10 prospects
I know a lot more about them than you do.

And at least i knew Weeks was having a career year at the time of injury, meaning i know more about the prospects AND organization. So i suggest you shut your mouth.

Read: the worst stat in sports.

Well it is, but it's still a stat and can be semi-useful when paired with other, more telling stats.

RBI's is not "the worst stat in sports." It's the most overrated. there's a difference.

How overrated it is is what makes it the worst IMO.

It's a photo finish between RBI and BA, but RBI wins.

Road batting average.

It's much more useful.

It can be used together with road OBP to determine how much home/road splits affect a certain player's offensive ability. B)

Saves.

They're much more useful, since it's the best way for a closer to break the bank on a poor, unsuspecting team. B)

effective when judging a player from the Padres worth.

But RBI's do that too.

Case in point: Mike Lowell's 120 RBI's in 2007 probably added another $3M/year to his contract.

(yes I know you were joking, it's just worth bringing up in context)

Well RBI's are effective when combined with other bits of information (team OBP, place in the lineup) to highlight a player's ability to convert scoring chances.

RBI's are useless as a predictive stat, however, in a loose, general sort of way, they'll tell you that a guy can do SOMETHING right. Much like Runs Scored.

avg./OPS/OBP w/ RISP can all do that much more effectively IMO

but I will say that if you look over a full career most players (there are few exceptions) OBP/AVG/OPS w/ RISP is close to their career averages, proving how impossible it is to quantify "clutch"
