If f***ing Tek did not suck so badly (dropping a drop third strike again) it would have been 3-2 and Pap would have been closing that game, which probably equals win.

 

Now with that said, Rocco came in for a righty, lefty match up. Tito was trying to do anything without using Youk because we need him more than anything down the stretch and we don’t need to risk him getting more hurt.

 

So, if you are going to bitch at Tito; bitch that he started Tek over VMart and Kotchman.

Yea, pretty much. I was impressed that he was still hitting mid-90s while keeping the ball down in the 8th. The last run he allowed was on Varitek.

Didn't really implode but leadoff walks never help. Anaheim played small ball to grind out a run.

The bottom line is you have to capitalize on every game possible. We cannot have losses like that down the stretch.

RW, what is the point? Do you want the sox to be engaged in an all out battle for the division, a battle that they would need serious help with? The sox are damn near a lock for the playoffs at this time. It might behoove the sox to sit back, relax some of their guys and give their team a rest. The Rangers gave them enough of a scare to play balls out into mid September. Now, they can ease off the pedal a little.

Ok, I understand what you are saying, but with that said, you know how Tito feels about those situations. So you should not be so shocked that he did that. Would you have been upset if Youk game in if he was healthy??

If the Sox win 11 more games, they have 97 wins. If Texas wins out, they have 97 wins, but in the process beat the Angels 7 times, meaning the best possible record from here on out is 10-7, meaning they can only win 96 games. Sox win the WC.

 

If the Angels win out, the same is true, but the Sox win the WC against Texas and not LAA.

My point is that good teams cannot be losing games like that. You cannot have errors like that.

 

Also, my other point is Tek sucks. He has no business being in the game at the point. If you are going to start him, he needed to be PH (he is 10-84) for in his third AB because there was a man on base with one out. Also, I do not start him. VMart goes behind the plate and Kotchman goes to 1B.

 

So again, IMO, you have to capitalize on every game possible down the stretch. The division (home field) is not out of reach if the Yankees falter a little bit. Plus we play you guys 3 more times.
