Think about it. Let's say you love your mother. But let's say she's also a total bitch sometimes, and freakishly ugly. You joke with your siblings about it, you even talk together about how much of a bitch she is sometimes and how you can't stand being around her occasionally.

Now imagine someone comes into your house while you're discussing it. Someone you barely know and who is not related to you.

Then they interject themselves in the conversation and say 'yeah, your mom really is a bitch'.

Same principle.

Like I said, Y228, we'd just had a walkoff win in a game we'd given up on. No one really wants to hear how we shouldn't have won the game right now. Give us a second to come down from the walk-off high.

I'm sure you understand what I mean.

Even some of the Red Sox fans here were admitting that they had no business winning the game.

The ump gave us the game.

Fuentes put five guys on after two were out.

The ump may have missed that pitch, but it was obviously not a good enough pitch to be a definite strike - which is what was required. Pitcher's fault.

This wasn't the first bad call in the history of baseball. I do enjoy watching Mike Scoscia get upset.

Fine. I do my best to stay away from the Red Sox game threads and this is one of the first I've posted in all year. I didn't gloat once when the Yankees slept the Red Sox at home or took two of three at Fenway.

I was ticked off about that call, I was compelled to say something. I'm sorry that upset you guys so much.

I thought it was a strike right away. Seemed pretty obvious to me.

So? We still don't want to hear it from someone else. It's like YOTN said. It's standard human herd mentality. One of "us" says it, it's just an aside between fans. An outsider says it, that's an attack and needs to be dealt with accordingly.

We know it's a bad call. We don't need you telling us that. And you don't need the aggrivation.

I recommend moving on and doing something else for awhile..

Interesting point. The pitcher certainly did a lot to narrow the strike zone.

I thought it was low, but borderline.

Obviously, it needed to be better in that situation. Fuentes failed.

with Scoscia yelling at the umps all game then the umps really dont like you as much and borderline pitches wont go your way.

I agree with you. I was shocked by the call. Of course my reaction would be one of happiness and yours would not. Terrible call, but that sack of s*** Fuentes has nothing to complain about. He sucked. He faced some s***** hitters and blew the game.

Well, I appreciate that you were the only one here to not have a problem with what I did. Considering the exchange we had in the Yankees' Game Thread, thanks.

Oh come on. Just drop it. Have the Yankees benefited from a favorable call this year?

Don't think too hard now.

Sometimes you eat the bear, sometimes the bear eats you.

Your team remains the team to beat. What's the problem?

I gotcha. Ok I'm done. It was a great game. Enjoy the win guys (not sarcastic).

I know where you're coming from. If this happened with the Angels vs the Yankees I would be livid.

I remember back early in the summer when Luis Castillo dropped that ball that gave the Yankees the win. That infuriated me. Not the same thing as an ump missing a call, but that's the first thing that came to my head.

I have no problem at all with what you did. Hell, that's why we're all online.

Actually if you look at the replay again, its closer then you think. It could have been low. Seriously, look at it again.

The Angels have been snake bit against the Red Sox since that Henderson HR ages ago. They couldn't beat Byrd tonite, the #5 starter, and have lost two now with VMart and Youks out of the lineup. They will have a tough climb to beat the Sox in the playoffs.

Contrition is fine. Most talksox members value your input and can understand your point of view. But the Sox just won and you are harping on an obvious point when Sox fan just want to celebrate. just drop it and leave the anti-Sox s*** to less qualified Yankee fans.

Peace Bro.

1986 was a great year. Hendoo's HR was "Epic".

Not sure that it means much now.
