Paul Byrd (1-1, 7.56 ERA) vs Jason Berken (4-11, 6.07 ERA)

Berken is 0-2 vs Boston this year and in his last start vs Boston he allowed 6 runs in 1.1 innings.

Berken is terrible, kill this scrub and sweep the short 2 games series.

I fully expect a football score tonight which probably means the O's will win 9-1

10-0 is a better football score...hopefully its 10-0 Boston, but either of these pitchers pitching a shut out would be a miracle.

Consistency in the third spot is a necessity. Consistency is tough for pansies.

I would say V-Mart has been consistent enough in the 3rd spot. On the occasion he gets a night off, Drew is a good replacement.

We have an advantage. Buchholz gave us 7 good innings and we were able to finish the game with low leverage guys so as long as Byrd keeps us in the game we should win the battle of the bullpens.

well its also a good thing that the O's lineup isnt very potent so even Byrd should be able to handle getting through 5 innings with minimal damage...he got lit up in his last outing but the white sox lineup is far more respectable than the lineup this Os team has.

yes, thats why I probably should have specified what I meant by "minimal damage" I meant 5 innings and 4-5 runs...not good but we have the ability to outscore them and our bullpen should hold up better than theirs.

Joba busy showing why he's better than Clay right now.

He hasn't had a good start since the third start after the ASB against TB. The Yankees are probably partially to blame, but he clearly has a ton of issues that need to be worked out.
