Mmmm, that is because the national league is not at the same level as the american league. This should not be new news to you.

Man, those who are calling for bans really have no clue about running an active board. I am glad none of you are mods. As much as Gom and I dislike each other, you cannot ban someone as active and as thread provoking as him. If you ban too much of your personality, the site dies. Trust me on this one, especially since I have come from a few dying boards on the yankee side where any objection is met with a ban.

That being said, this progression into being a solid pitcher could be cut down to one line. Pitch in the NL. Thats it.

He can be thread provoking without being a douche.

I think the Sox FO has to look at how they are handling their pitching. I mean the Sox pitching--not the minor leagues.

They have no middle relief. If a starter has nothing and is getting bombed (like Byrd tonite), Tito really has no option. The bullpen is all 7-9th inning guys. So the starter is left in until the game is out of hand.

Sure, Tazawa was there tonite, but he's not really a middle inning pitcher--just a kid called up from AA.

Masterson was the last guy they had who could pitch 2-3 innings in the middle of the game, and stop the bleeding.

They have a bunch of 1 inning pitchers in the bullpen right now.Guys who pitch 1 inning each in the 7th, 8th and 9th almost every game. Forget about Pap pitching 2 innings the other night. That was an aberration. You use 3 bullpen pitchers every game, there is no room for middle relief unless you go to 12-13 pitchers. That's why they have to rethink their 6 innings/90-100 pitches and out for their starters.
