Clay definitely being awesome so far. Rooting for him to keep it up, since the offense seems to be in half mast mode.

For the record, Buchholz hasn't been as bad as his stats may suggest. He's had a few really bad outings that skew the statistics pretty badly. If I recall correctly the defense may have abandoned him in one of those outings, but I'm probably confusing that with a Brad Penny start.

Just hope he keeps it up. It'd be a nice confidence building game if he finishes strong.

He's had a trouble with walks and command. He's probably been a little bit worse than his stats suggest.

Agreed, and if he can hit some of these upcoming matchups (Baltimore, KC) with some good outings, it could go along way as far as October is concerned.

I was hearing that in his last start that Farrell found that Buchholz was tipping his pitches a bit. I'm surprised that they discovered that this early, but whatever was worked on seems to have worked thus far.

Same thing was happening with Smoltz. He was tipping his pitches and it didn't get noticed until he went to St. Louis.
