Texas now loosing 10-0 :D

so unless toronto realy chokes then the sox will have a 4 game lean in the WC after tonight

Really doesn't surprise me. I don't think there will be much of an AL wild card race down the stretch, at not involving Texas. If the Rays sweep this weekend then it's a different story.

Texas has one experienced pitcher in their rotation. Even Ranger management doesn't expect that the kids will hold up. They are dead meat. The Rays threw in the towel when they traded kazmir.

Let's hope so. Texas still has a slightly softer schedule, though. I don't think the Rays have folded. They still have plenty of talent and they have gotten this far with little out of Kazkir.

Their big problem is health.

I hope the Sox can take 2 of 3 or at least 1 from the Rays.

11-10 Toronto after 7 innings. It doesn't matter if Texas pulls this game out and it doesn't matter how soft their schedule is in September. They are going nowhere. A team with one veteran starter (and the veteran is Kevin Milwood) has no chance. None. The Red Sox would need to have a catastrophe to lose to Texas.

McDonald RBI single, 14-10 Jays, hopefully they can hold this.

Edit: Aaron Hill walks with bases loaded, 15-10 Jays.

Edit: Lind 3 run double, 18-10, that should be game.

Wow. 18-10. What a top of the ninth for TOR. Yankees magic number for the playoffs will go down to 22 if TOR gets three more outs.

what's more important is that the Sox will have a 4 game lead on the WC ;)

Haha, considering what site I'm on, I would tend to agree lol. Like a700 said, I really don't see Texas posing a serious threat. If the Red Sox don't make a run at the Yankees, I see the Rays as the only team that has a shot to compete. For one they're better than the Rangers, and they also have six games left with the Red Sox. They really need to sweep this weekend.

Not sure if you remember, but there was a series in late August last year when the Red Sox came into Yankee Stadium holding a five game edge in the wild card. Pretty similar to this series coming up.

Its got to be the heat, in 40 years i think Texas has made the playoffs twice and in many of those years the al west sucked real bad. I think the heat simply breaks down their pitchers and they have had some momumental 2nd half collapses, its too bad, i do like their club a little bit but theyre going nowhere without a #1 and Kevin Millwood isnt a 1.

Possible, but the Florida Marlins and Houston Astros have all had successful runs when they had a good starting pitching.

The Rangers with Feliz, Holland, Feldman, and the rest of their up and comers, should be able to compete for the AL West as soon as next year if they add the right pieces.

Not to mention Anaheim's core is getting up there in years, and Lackey is likely to depart via FA.

I don't really agree with Crunchy's point, but you have to remember that that Astros have always played in either a dome or a retractable dome.

The Marlins will do.
