Kotchman isn't an auto out.

If we want to compete with the yankees and the rangers we need a big power bat . kotchman isnt that player ... he is a good backup

Theo and red sox owners are becoming to be cheap cheap and cheap.. They did not sing a ss in the offseason .. they didnt sing Mark tex ' date=' they didnt trade for halladay or cliff lee ..they waste their money in garbage players like : Rocco, penny, smoltz , saito and julio lugo , drew[/quote']

Grammar is your friend.

They didn't have to sign a SS. Should they have traded for a better one at the deadline? Probably.

People know my feelings on MT.

Ricciardi wasn't trading Halladay within the division.

Lee would have been an awesome get.

Rocco's a decent 4th OF. Penny's pitched OK for a #5. Smoltz sucked. Saito has a 3.00 ERA. Lugo sucks. Drew's been OK in his time here, far from a "sucky" player.

He is by CIF standards.

And he has downright sucked, let's come to terms with that.

You're not getting a "big power bat" through waivers. The Sox for this season have to hope Bay and Ortiz come around and that Lowell's hip holds up.

If you mean for this season, playing Kotchman at first is more a necessity than an option.

I'm confused, he's really onle been getting regular playing time for a week. He's not a bad player, he can be a very useful player for this team going forward.

Dude's a GG caliber 1B, and he's capable of putting up an .800 OPS. While it's not the traditional method of lineup construction a team can succeed with a guy like Kotchman manning 1B (Angels when he was there, John Olerud in TOR, etc.)

If he can get back to Angels form, then fine.

But he'll have a chance to prove himself from here on.

If he sucks, he won't get a chance next season.

i Think we need to fired theo. we need a GM Like Kenneth Royal Williams

No. even if you are having problems with the way theo is currently running things 2WS titles buy him time to construct another championship team. it is not time to fire Theo at all.

He's under contract through 2011. I'll bet you $20 he's on the team next season in some capacity, barring a trade.

I never suggested we get rid of him, he's a highly useful part.

What i stated was that he shouldn't be this team's starting 1B.

He is Missing to many chanches .. Texeira, halladay, Cliff lee ... he prefer to go with grabage like penny smoltz saito MR 36 millions julio lugo and 70 millions Drew ..

I know we won 2WS with theo but lately he been doing really bad decisions..Think about it between drew and lugo 106 millions..

Yeah, he also realized his mistake in terms of Lugo, sucked it up and cut dead weight.

those have all been made this year I dont think we cant truly gauge his failings this year for a few years, If Bucholtz or Tazawa become similar to Lester in performance and we bring in a few good deals we wouldnt have gotten otherwise it could very well change the way we look at his moves, we still might be upset that he didnt send us to the WS this year but its not fair to call for firing him on moves that were debatable. Just name the last Red Sox GM that has had as much success as he has in his first 5 years..

You're Right ,, Im just so upset with the way the team looks ry now

Ideally, no.

But there are scenarios where it would be acceptable. The offense needs to improve elsewhere, but if that's done the team could live with the "dropoff" in production from Kotchman.

Do you like Trot Nixon?

Posted
I do like Trot I just dont like how everyone idolizes him and honest to god start to pass judgement on players that arent covered in dirt and emotional, I like those qualities too but they arent the way any player should be judged its ridiculous, and I still think that Trot is one of the reasons so many people dislike Drew so much.

Nah man he lets stupid reasons like a pulled groin (probably doesn't even hurt what a softie) take him out of games.

Yeah!!! Drew :thumbdown
