Still lots of improvement will happen to him but it's nice that he proved to himself he can step in and do well against big league hitters. A lot of kids would've gotten seriously rattled after the way things went in the first

I like the kid. I just don't think he should be starting games in the middle of a pennant race. The kid has a lot of poise and excellent command considering his minimal experience. Here are my posts about him after seeing him during Spring Training for those who say that I never like the kids. I just don't like throwing them to the wolves. It's unfair to them and the team.

Liked his stuff a lot and he's only 23 so he will get better, really nice curve ball. Needs to develop a dominant out pitch but very pleased with how he did

Not saying you didn't like him, I know exactly what your saying and I don't love the Idea of throwing him in there now either, would have rather seen him out of the pen first then maybe next year have him start. Either way just saying you were a little more against him being in there than most and were bashing him a little after the 1st which isn't really all his fault. 1earned run over 5 innings not bad. at least we know he can handle him self out there
