I completely agree. Today wasn't a very good example of it but he usually pitches solid shutout ball for a few innings then has a meltdown after 3 or 4 innings. I'm sure they've already talked with him but Theo, Tito and company need to sit down and tell him "We gave you your shot to be a starting pitcher and you haven't quite been up to par for this team's standards. We'd like you to pitch in the bullpen as you have done that before in your career and that would be the best move for not only you but the team moving forward. We're in the middle of the pennant race."

I wouldn't want to overpay either. I thought you were saying you wouldn't want him period.

 

He's got a 3.17 ERA with 103 Ks this season.

the reason he's only 6-9 is because his team sucks

 

I know this but i think alot of ppl see him as an Ace, I see him as a slightly above average first pitcher, I would rather have Peavy.

And he would be a 3rd starter on this team behind Beckett and Lester. He wouldn't have to carry the pitching staff like he did on the Guardians. I like the idea of acquiring Cliff Lee.

He's not carrying the pitching staff....the Guardians just need jake westbrook and fausto carmona back and then cliff wouldn't have to do so much.

my problem is what are we willing to pay im afraid ppl would over value him and that'd force us to pay more.
