I don't know why so many Sox fans on this site pant over Salty. He hits worse than an over the hill Varitek and he has never demonstrated any power despite playing in a very homer friendly venue.

Edit: Dipre will now post that he has 6 HRs to prove that saying he has never demonstrated power is an overstatement.

Theo Epstein will lead off tomorrow.

I know this is a obvious statement, but when Jason Bay goes in a strike out spree like he's been on you begin to see what Manny meant to the team.

Bay is solid but he is not a superstar. Kudos to Theo for standing his ground.

Uh-oh. The self proclaimed 5 star gastronomy of Quebec.

I sampled as much of it as I could while in Quebec City for a week. Sorry Dutch. I've had better food in Delaware.

Where did you eat, McDonalds? :D

There are plenty of tourist traps in Quebec City (just like any other tourist destination) that get a kick out of charging naive tourists excessive amounts of money for really bad, and at times even microwaved food. But overall, the food and alcohol in a place with French influence is much better than American establishments.

What would Manny have meant to us this year? With the 50 game suspension and all.

Imiss seeing him hit every night.

If anyone goes apeshit over Smoltz giving up a whole 2 runs :o, or claims it means we shouldn't trade Penny, I'm going to laugh at them. Just a fair warning.

Michael Young goes yard.

BTW, Smoltz is showing me something tonight. His stuff is meh but his location is good and he's getting a lot of weak hacks and he's pitching to contact. This might be all he becomes this yr, but if he can do this, he can be a 4 something ERA kind of guy

I probably ate at some of those places. I did have some very good food. Just not with the regularity that I was expecting. The smaller places like "Le Petit Pousan" were my favorites.

I stayed in old town within the wall.

This one is starting to slip away. The 3rd time through the order they are realizing he has nothing. He can't dominate anymore. He doesn't have the life in his arm. It's gone with his youth.

Who the f*** would do that? Still, we shouldn't trade Penny.

Pretty good for a guy with his shoulder hanging on by a thread, huh?

And usually his stuff is much better. He hasn't had the normal velocity on his fastball that he's had the rest of the year, and he's struggled to locate his breaking stuff. He's better than a 4 something ERA kind of guy.

Salty sucks.

Carry on.

You'd be surprised. I won't name any names, but someone's said that we shouldn't trade Penny because Smoltz is sitting at 90 mph on his fastball tonight.

I never said his shoulder was hanging by a thread. I said Penny's is.

I don't care enough to look it up and prove you wrong. I have a game to watch.

Insert any catheters today?
