If he hits in Pawtucket I could see him getting the call (at Brown's expense ion the 40-man) in September as the Sox try to sort out the puzzle of how best to replace Tek.

I'm liking the plate discipline progression this year. Glad he improved from his awful 2008.

I don't know if he's the "catcher of the future" but I like that he can throw runners out and he hit well in a pitcher's haven like Portland. If nothing else, he could be a great backup.

Mauer should be a DH. He's an elite hitter. Risking his health behind the plate is just foolish.

We'll be going head to head with the Yankees for Mauer even assuming the Twins don't bust the bank to keep the guy in Minnesota. I wouldn't assume we can get him until the moment we actually do.

It's said Catchers sometimes develop slower then other players. Maybe he could be a viable candidate to take over for Tek.

It's certainly possible. Even if he never hits much Wagners' defensive talents will get him to the big leagues.
