Not that it would happen. But I'd like Huff. Particularly because he can play OF' date=' 3B, and 1st.[/quote']

I would love Huff as well. I believe this is the second year in a row he's leading the majors in XBH. I don't know that the Orioles would trade him in division though.

If Huff is available' date=' the Yankees will compete for him since he can play 3B and A-Rod is struggling.[/quote']

This is trading, not spending.

The Yankees don't have nearly as much pitching depth as the Sox.

record doesnt help you win in the playoffs. Over the last 7 seasons' date=' only 2 teams with the best win % in the AL made it to the world series (NYY 2003, CWS 2005), and only one of them won it (CWS 2005). It isnt about your current record. It is about how strong your team is from top to bottom.[/quote']

You're right, the Red Sox should try to make the playoffs without having the best record so they have a better chance of winning the World Series

My bad, the second year in a row he's leading the AL in XBH.

I didn't mean to offend Saint Albert, I swear!

He only has 27 XBH, so no. Pujols has more HRs alone.

Still no. I don't know the rankings, but Bay has 37. Longoria and Tex lead the AL.

You're right, he lead the AL in XBH last year with 82, but he isn't leading the AL this year.

Lowell's hip is starting to concern me. With his .283/.320/.472 line, he's a pretty understated but important part of our offense.

He is gonna get a cortisone shot tomorrow and will be out at least for the next day or so. He might go on the DL per the Globe.
He is getting that lubricant injected, not a cortisone shot.

That's good. He's hit .200 this month so something had to give. We won't be losing any offense with Kotsay at first and Youk at third as Lowell gets healthy.
