I don't even think that team is top 6 in the East. It doesn't scare me in the least bit.

All the top teams have the ability to expose the s*** out of Stuckey, Gordon is a drop off defensively, Villanueva has trouble guarding true 4's and their bench is probably one of the most pathetic things I've ever seen. They still have a lot of moves to make if they want to be competitive this year, and they're already around a $60 million cap figure, so they'll need to get better from the inside-out with some wheelin and dealin, which is what I expected anyways.

I wouldn't be scared of them, I just like the guys on their team. Especially if Hamilton is still there. Then again I'm not a fan of the Eastern Conference anyway so it doesn't really matter.

If they are losing Ariza and Odom I still think they've downgraded from last year.

Kobe and Artest on the same team will be interesting.

No deal between Turkoglu, Blazers

Free agent forward Hedo Turkoglu has broken off negotiations with the Portland Trail Blazers, a source told ESPN's Ric Bucher on Friday night.

Yahoo! Sports reported that Turkoglu backed out of his earlier commitment and has his sights set on Toronto. Yahoo! Sports reported that Toronto can offer Turkoglu about $6 million more than Portland, but would have to trim its roster to do it.

Friday night, a report from the National Post newspaper in Canada said Turkoglu was close to signing with the Raptors, who could have to consider renouncing the rights to free agents Shawn Marion, Anthony Parker and Carlos Delfino.

Earlier Friday, ESPN.com's Henry Abbott reported that Turkoglu had agreed in principle to a deal with the Trail Blazers, citing sources. The report, which said the deal couldn't be formally signed until the NBA salary cap is set next Wednesday, followed a Wednesday night dinner in Orlando between Turkoglu and Blazers head coach Nate McMillan, followed by two days of negotiations.

Friday afternoon, Bucher reported that the Turkish star remained in Portland, where he and the team were working on a deal.

After ESPN.com reported the agreement in principle, several news organizations confirmed it, using sources. Late Friday afternoon, the Oregonian reported that Blazers general manager Kevin Pritchard and Turkoglu's agent, Lon Babby, had not confirmed the deal, but that talks were continuing.

Turkoglu, a 6-foot-10 forward from Turkey who played a prominent role in the Orlando Magic's recent trip to the NBA Finals, had been looking for a five-year deal in the neighborhood of $50 million.

He ended up signing with Raptors instead.

From rotoworld:

The Raptors and free agent Hedo Turkoglu have agreed on a five-year contract, according to the Toronto Globe and Mail.

The deal is "in excess of $50 million" and to clear enough cap space the Raptors must renounce their rights to free agents Shawn Marion, Carlos Delfino, and Anthony Parker. (There are rumors of Marion being involved in a sign-and-trade, but so far nothing concrete has been reported.) The Raptors are probably overpaying for Turkoglu, but until the dust settles we're giving GM Bryan Colangelo the benefit of the doubt. Jul. 3 - 11:46 pm et

Will Toronto be able to bring enough players in to keep Bosh there??

I doubt they'll be able to afford him, especially if they resign Marion and keep him.

This is great news. I've never liked the guy. I think he is kind of a punk. Never the less, he is a very talented big man and still has a couple of good to very good years left. The Celtics have scored here. I can't wait until Wednesday.

This should mean the end of Davis too, I think someone is going to overpay for him anyways.

If Danny can now pick up Grant Hill with the LLE and Tyronn Lue/Anthony Carter/Kevin Ollie for the minimum, I'd be f***ing ecstatic.

Rondo/Lue/House

Allen/House/TA

Paul/Hill/Walker

Garnett/Wallace/Scalabrine

Perkins/Wallace

Another pipe dream of mine would be to add Jeff Foster for Scalabrine and TA as well.

I've heard alot about the celtics wanting to trade either Rondo, Allen, or Scalabrine or all of the above, now being that im not quite as informed when it comes to Basketball than when it comes to Baseball or Football can someone tell me how that is playing out

You want to try and pry a white player from the Pacers? Good luck.

I'm obviously joking.

I'd say Rondo and Allen are staying put.
