On a completely different note, if Orlando was smart, they'd trade bad contract for bad contract, and ship Lewis to Philly for Elton Brand. I have a hard time seeing Philly reject that, since Lewis is ten times the fit for them that Brand is, and Orlando would improve a shitload from having a true power forward next to Dwight who is a monster when healthy and used properly. Actually just getting rid of Lewis would improve Orlando, by itself.

Nelson/Carter/Pietrus/Brand/Howard

scares me a lot more than

Nelson/Carter/Turkoglu/Lewis/Howard

Couldn't disagree more about Rashard Lewis in Orlando - he's been the perfect fit.

Overpaid? Maybe. But his skillset is perfect for that team.

NJ takes Terrence Williams' date=' who I have never heard of.[/quote']

Detroit takes Austin Daye' date=' who I have also never heard of.[/quote']

Did you not watch college basketball whatsoever last year?

Also really like the Lester Hudson pick for the Celtics. He could make a solid impact.

Hansbrough to the Pacers. He'll make them very happy.

Indiana is pulling out all the stops to be the first NBA team since like the 60's to have a roster with more white players than black. If they make a move or two, it could happen. Utah is always in the running for the whitest team in the league title though so I wouldn't be surprised to see them counter sometime soon.

No one really expected the Celts to land an impact player here. And most likely they didn't.

Admittedly, I've never seen the kid play. I've just read the scouting reports and such on him.

I just don't see him making the roster as it is comprised now. Instant offense is a desirable trait. But it usually comes at a price. Defensive liability. I have seen the reports of his athleticism and his steals. He is intriguing. Will he bump Pruitt, Walker, etc.?

I guess that's why ESPN has dubbed him "a fun pick".

Come on. You don't really believe their decision to draft a white player was because of a desire to field a predominantly white team, do you? That would be really foolish of them. I assume they either drafted from need or just took the best player available on their board.

I hope so, anyway!

lol, that whole post was a joke.

It's just funny to see an NBA team with so many white dudes, when some teams don't even have one.

And they will all "fit in" as long as they keep pace with the tatoos!:D

Lack of bulk at power forward is what did them in. Lewis' height is what has fooled a lot of people into thinking he can actually that position.

His cap number also makes it pretty difficult to find someone who can play that position effectively, unless he's the one going somewhere else. Orlando won't win with Lewis at the 4.

I'm loving the Spurs trade. Also I think that Dajuan Blair was a good pick up' date=' although I hated him while he was on the Panthers.[/quote']

i'm surprised he slipped so far. I think he ends up being a solid pro, assuming his legs and knees are healthy. He was lucky to slide and go to San Antonio. He will play a good role for them off the bench next year IMO and Pop knows how to use his players so that they succeed. The guy has been playong without ACL's since highschool and rebounding is a skill that will transfer well to the NBA. I actually think that as long as he stays healthy he will earn himself a decent second contract somewhere other than San Antonio, mainly because San Antonio does a great job of coaching up there players and playing them to maximize there strengths and minimize there weaknesses. I do think that Blair will fade away a bit during his second contract. There's a chance he could be like Karl Malone but I think he ends up like Tractor Traylor, Corliss Williamson, Michael Sweetney etc.

Corliss Williamson was a much better and more important player than Traylor or Mike Sweetney ever were. Not sure why you lumped him in with two overweight out of shape bums.

Because he was a undersized power forward where in college he was dominant and a high draft pick who was only a decent role player in the pros. Nothing to do with being overweight. Undersized was the key word in my post, not overweight or out of shape.

Overweight and out of shape also followed a trend there. Williamson could also play small forward, was an elite defender of 3's and 4's, and wasn't really a slouch offensively, scoring around 12 ppg in his prime. His rebounding skills didn't translate to the NBA either. It's really unfair to Williamson, an elite role player in his day, to group him in with Sweetney and Traylor, regardless of how tall they are. Furthermore, Williamson had twice the longevity as either of those guys.

You also can't say he was a "high draft pick who was decent in the pros", first off because he was an elite role player, and secondly he was drafted that high because that was one of the worst drafts in a long time. You could make the argument that he ended up being anywhere from the 4th to 6th best player out of that draft.

Probably, but I wouldn't be opposed to trying. He doesn't fill any of our top three biggest needs, but he is a damn good player.

I'd place Trevor Ariza as a higher priority, since I'm thinking LA opts to keep Odom and let Ariza go.

I've heard some reports that Sheed is taking his family to visit Boston tomorrow, and is essentially being hardcore recruited by KG.

If we could somehow find a way to bring back House, sign Sheed, and then sign Ariza if the Lakers don't retain him...

PG Rondo/House

SG R. Allen/Ariza

SF Pierce/Ariza

PF Garnett/Powe

C Perkins/Sheed

1) House already is back, we don't need to "find a way".

2) Sheed will command a lot of the MLE, Ariza will command probably the whole MLE, doesn't fit.

3) They will most likely resign Davis cause we have his birds and because bringing him back won't count on our MLE.

4) Powe won't be back, didn't make a qualifying offer.

5) Sheed does not, cannot, and will not (if he plays here) pay the 5.

No s***. Maybe I meant as a package deal.

So? He's unlikely to get a big pay day on the open market with his recent injury.

5) Sheed does not, cannot, and will not (if he plays here) pay the 5.

So we have the same problem as always then... no backup center. Beautiful.
