Beckett's going to rape this lineup tomorrow.

... or they will take him deep 4 or 5 times. That's a possibility too in that band box.

Or he will pitch a solid game in 6 innings and get a no decision.

Any other scenarios?

Lugo 4-4' date=' no errors. Holy s***, it's the end of the world.[/quote']It must be. His Batting Average is currently higher than Pedroia's. Go figure.

After his last outing, I asked how many more times do they send Dice K to the hill if he doesn't turn it around. Weather excuses aside, he was atrocious again tonight. His ERA is over 7.50. How many more starts do they give him?

They defiantly have a commitment to this guy. 1-2 more s***** outings and then push will come to shove. What that will entail, who knows? Lugo has achieved a stay of execution with tonight's 4/5 performance. Dice will likely receive more consideration. It's going to be interesting.

Christ, who knows? As I said, the Sox have a commitment to this guy. Monetary, and public perception. Bucholtz is still a minor league "prospect". The Sox have much more invested in Dice than they did in Bucholtz last year. Don't get me wrong, I'd much rather have Bucholtz in the rotation at this point. I just don't think the Sox will give up on Dice at this point. And, demoting him does not appear to be an option.

As I said in my edit, I don't think he will be demoted. That would require subterfuge (faking an injury) and the Sox FO is image conscious. Dice has thrown WAY too many pitches since his DL for anyone to believe he has a legitimate injury. At best, I see him sitting down (occupying a roster spot) while Smoltz or Bucholtz makes an appearance. The question at that point becomes, who is sacrificed from the 25 man roster?

Isn't baseball fun?
