Interesting choice to scout. He is a 27 yr old right handed hitting power hitter with minimal patience and a propensity to K a good amount. His best yr came in 2007 when he clubbed 24 homers, 66 extra base hits and had an OPS of .892. Last season, he slipped a bit as his average dropped as did his walk total, but he did have 71 extra base hits and 20 homers while driving in 91. His career OPS is .799 and his stroke combined with 81 games of the monster could be worth the shot. He's an OFer by trade capable of playing CF and could be the sox platoon OFer with Drew vs lefties and the sox DH depending on how Ortiz progresses.

A package around Bowden would be WAY too much to pay for him in my opinion. As a 4th OF he would be alright. That's not much of a rumor: a few teams have scouted him, take it for what it's worth.
