Really no use to dwell on it but the Sox could have taken all three. The Mets aren't that good are they? I know they are missing two key players but other than Santana, I can't remember the names of their rotation. Sox bats were pretty quiet this weekend, except for today.

They're a good team, they're just missing players now, including Reyes. They have a great core, and they improved their biggest weakness in the off-season. They'll be in the race.

Jerry is a member of Sox management who sits behind home plaet most games, and a childhood friend of mine...He's been wearing ugly yellow earphones to every game this year....My wife has been bugging me to call him and ask him, but I haven't talked to him since '04...And I really didn't want to bother him with such trivia...I was hoping maybe some of the locals might have a clue...

I don't know of the man. Some of the more ardent fans on the board may know. Welcome to the site and I hope you join us on game threads often. The thread was quiet today but most nights it's pretty active.

Along way to go. I'm about to watch the PawSox game on NESN. At least for a few innings.

I was looking at the box score for the Red Sox and it revealed that we left 19 men on base. Not surprising with so many hits and walks. What is disturbing was that Papi stranded 8. I don't have any faith that he is going to suddenly snap out of his funk and start to hit productively. I also don't see the Sox doing anything (benching, change in batting order, trade for a hitter, etc.) about it soon. Tito will stick with him for the foreseeable future.

I think Nick Green is the starting shortstop. Period. I realize that he makes bonehead plays in the field and he is a journeyman utility infielder. But he represents the best option at this point. Sit Lugo and use him to pinch hit and pinch run. With an occasional blow for Green Lugo can start. $9 mil is certainly too much to pay a situational player but what else can be done? Velasquez? He has not proven that he can hit consistently in the majors. Lowrey will return in July. And I think he is the best SS on the roster. But I don't know that he will be 100% healthy and in game condition. How will his timing at the plate be? How long will it take for him to regain his timing and what limitations will there be with the repaired wrist ? Hopefully he will be back to being his normal self in mid August. Doesn't sound good but it's probably realistic.

This. Completely agree.

When Lowrie comes back, give him his shot to see if he can find his stride and then we'll see from there. The SS hole is a bad one at the moment...they'll figure something out eventually.

Flight for Minny leaves in the morning...thought I'd pop in on you guys and say HAHA I WAS AT FENWAY FOR THE AWESOME FOUR HOMER INNING.

Didn't think I'd be coming home but we decided not to stay in Boston tonight. Probably going to miss the first half of tomorrows game.

No, but I ate so many Fenway Franks and had so much beer that when I jumped up screaming and hugging total strangers after he hit it I almost passed out.

Yesterday's game sucked ass, but Papelbon has been hurting himself with walks all season, it was only a matter of time. I was more disappointed that it took away a win in Beckett's best start of the season.

THe first game I wasn't too sad, I mean, we did lose to Johan frickin Santana

The Toronto games were unbelievable.

Minny looks to be awesome. Four game sweeeep.

As a fantasy owner of Becks, I was double pissed yesterday.

Have fun in Minny.
