But as I watched the top of the 12th today, I was begging for Pedroia to hit the ball anywhere on the field.... anywhere... I just DID NOT want to see Papi come up with the bases loaded and 2 outs... I just knew that wasn't going to end well... He had gone 0 for 6 with 3 K's.....

And of course... just as I feared.... Papi has nothing... He must have stranded 6 or more baserunners today....

He needs to be dropped in the order... Tito, please do something!:(

I think it's now past the point where you have to make a move. He (Ortiz) isn't doing ANYTHING productive. If he was decent/solid on defense or if he was hitting for average, then I can understand keeping him in the 3-hole/lineup. But he is exclusively a DH. His only job is to hit, specifically to drive in runs. If he can't do that, he's useless. Put him on the DL, let him get his s*** together and go from there. Keeping him in the lineup is clearly not the answer.

A brutal assessment. But dead on accurate.

Uh what?

how the f*** is this on franconna?

Francona refuses to move him from the 3 spot while Carter is rotting in AAA. Ortiz refers to him as his 'dad'.

We're all hollering for Ortiz to be moved down or to be benched. I don't see it happening just yet. Francona has a history of sticking with slumping players. Pedroia came alive after a slow start his rookie season. I don't see that happening with Ortiz. When will Francona do something?

This is more than a slump, this is a historically epic stretch of disgusting suckitude and incompetence. f***er couldn't hit a beach ball off a tee.

Memo to Ortiz:

Please get back to whatever stuffs you were using before and see if that helps. We all know you are regular roid user - so if you get caught in testing - no harm will be done. In fact the 50 game suspension may be the only way we can move you out of the line-up - so you will really help this team to win.

With a 6.52 ERA.

I've been on the dump Penny bandwagon. But he has been O.K. the last two outings. No worse than Beckett or Lester. I'm kidding about him being the Ace. Right now he is carrying his weight (no small task) when other starters are not playing anywhere near their potential.

but you dont' date=' as evidenced by his 6+ ERA[/quote']

Put it this way - I feel pretty confident he's going to go out there and give us 6 IP and 2-3 ER every time out. His last 3 have been QS's and he's done a nice job. Also hasn't given up a HR in those 3 either.

This is quickly turning into the sports day from hell. The Bruins better pick up the slack.

A terrible day for you sir, at least sports wise.
