9 f***ing homers already? really? what the f***?

Have you watched a game played in new Yankee Stadium yet? The place plays like a little league park. When unspectacular flyballs fly out over the RF fence routinely, it won't be hard for Damon to boost his HR #'s.

s*** Ortiz could probably hit 20HR if he played all his games at that park(<_>

He is way ahead of his 162 game average of 15 HRs, but without the additional HRs he is still a very good offensive player. He is a catalyst who helps his team score lots of runs. He has not declined much in the 4 years since he left Boston. He has had 3 very respectable years with the Yanks.

In his five full major league seasons, Marco Scutaro's HR totals have been 7, 9, 5, 7 and 7. This year, he's already hit 5. It happens.

I concur. It is hard for RSN to swallow the fact that JD is actually a good offensive player because he betrayed the nation - but that is the truth.

However - his defense has diminished considerable as well as his speed since he left Boston - and - he may not be worth $13 M per year as he is not a total package as he was in Boston.

There's no way he has another season like this, and it's coming in his walk year. Then, add what he said about the Yankees being more loyal to their stars, putting PR pressure on them to resign him, and you are talking about the Yankees signing him through his age 36-38 seasons. This is not an all-together bad thing.

They are willing to overpay to keep talent. It has nothing to do with loyalty. They didn't re-sign ARod out of loyalty. They will let Damon walk, and they will make a run at Bay. If Damon is counting on loyalty, he is kidding himself.

I don't think he's counting on anything. This is negotiating through the media. He's attempting to appeal to the "uber-class of the Yankees" sensibility.

The classy tradition of the Yankee organization that let Reggie walk and that illegally spied on Winfield, not to mention that they released babe ruth.
