He was a sucky lefty who hung on for years because he was left-handed. One time I was at Fenway and the manager brought in Gunderson to face Junior Griffey with the bases loaded. I had good seats close to the field by the dugout. When the manager went to the mound to make the change, I stood up a screamed for him not to bring in Gunderson. When he made the call, I screamed "why don't you forfeit the game already." My recollection is that the game was knotted 4-4. On the very first pitch, Griffey hit a laser beam into the RF grandstand for the grand salami. I don't think the ball went higher than 12 feet and it left the playing field like a gunshot. I was livid.

That's the game. Notice the Griffey HR says deep RF line. It doen't say that it was a screaming liner that probably took out a couple of seats. lol!

I had to switch over to the Celtics game at 8, but checked back every now and then. Wake hasnt been good against the Rays in awhile but he did enough to not let them totally take over. It was his 20th career win vs Tampa Bay. I just wish he did more than 5 innings, give that bullpen a rest. Especially with Penny starting today. The Sox are right now in a strech of 17 consecutive days without a day off, which is May 11

 

Solid game by Green (3 hits, 3 RBIs). Everyone in the lineup had a hit... except for Ortiz that is
