He wants the same OF of FAIL they had last year.

Only a genius like Gom would want Matsui's balky knees in the OF risking further injury, and not getting to balls Adam Dunn would catch with ease.

Moron...how many plays does a left fielder impact in a game? Last I remember, you did ok with Manny for how many years.

Right now, Hideki Matsui makes Manny Ramirez look like Jim Edmonds out there.

By the way...since Posada has been out...the Yankees are 7-5...with a team ERA of 3.76.

Of course..it's just coincidence. How many games has Posada caught where the Yankees gave up less than four runs?

Four games. In the 12 games he's been out, the Yankees have given up less than four runs....EIGHT TIMES. This is with the HOFers Molina, Cervelli, and Cash behind the plate.

How much more proof do you guys need?

Cash kinda stinks.

He does. This just goes to show you that it's not so much Molina...it's Posada that's the problem. Personally, the best Yankee team puts Posada/Matsui at DH with Molina/Cervelli behind the plate. I don't think there is much doubt here. The only people who pine for Posada behind the plate are the ones that really don't see the importance of defense behind the plate.

you are delusional

You're a clueless idiot.

That's getting a little old.

Besides, you're both delusional, clueless idiots. :D

I've resorted to reacting to the faux doc with the same phrase as it seems to be his only defense against his stupidity. Never thought someone who is supposedly educated to resort to "I know you are, but what am I" as his defense...but what can you do?

Don't forget to get to my house early tomorrow. It's supposed to rain, and you can't cut grass in the rain.

No, you can't cut the grass in the rain, but you can sell the hell out of some Slurpees.

I have to say, the injury to Posada was the best thing that happened to the Yankees. Posada got some rest, and got to see how Molina/Cervelli did a great job behind the plate. This isn't me saying it, this is Posada saying it on an interview with Michael Kay. He says he didn't really realize how much of an effect it had on the pitch and he makes an effort on every pitch.

Amazing. A player's improved contribution came from taking some time off and watching the game.

I am utterly shocked that he has been this good. Throwing out runners is unimportant to me. Framing pitches is. Kudos to Posada, but some of the credit has to go to the broadcasters too. If they didn't harp on it on every good game the Yankees pitched, maybe he goes back to his s***** catching style.

so he improved rather than you just being proven wrong. I see

Yup. Even he admitted it. Just go back to the video and you'll see. Sorry his own personal admission doesn't jive with your argument, Jacko. How dare he.

It has been 7 games since he came back from the DL.

In the seven games he's been back, the team CERA has been 4.14. I knew he'd done better just by watching him, and the numbers back up what I saw. Anyone who's watched him can see he's framing better, he admits he's framing better, so there you have it.

Jacko, the numbers don't lie. A small adjustment made him a much better catcher. Hitters do it all the time. Why can't fielders? I've said time and time again, I'd LOVE him to start framing pitchers. Hearing on TV that you're terrible every game woke his ass up.

Maybe he just read this thread and was impressed that you had managed to see something that would drastically improve the success for the whole staff so he took your advice. :dunno:

If Posada is finally framing pitches then I suppose you're ready to say he's the better catcher?

Absolutely. If he continues that is...

2 ego maniacs running an 8 page thread over why Jorge Posada isnt as good as Yaya Molina?

You guys should chip in for a hooker, theres no possible way you get laid without paying.

Posada is starting to forget to frame pitches again....

Do you think there is a possiblity of poor performances of the starting rotation contributing to a bad CERA?

I read the post. What did you expect Molina to say?

I steal a strike every AB? If he said that, it's akin to saying your teammate sucks.

Come on buddy...the proof is in the pudding.

I'm on the Posada bandwagon until he stops framing pitches, which he did well for the first couple of games, and then he forgot all about it.

If what you're saying is true [which it is] about Burnett and CC preferring Cervelli/Molina, and their performance is better without Posada behind the plate...then why'd you sign them for 250 million if you were planning to give them a s***** catcher?

Also, about the PA article...he's just wrong. He states that Posada was the starting catcher for 3 championships. Not true. Posada started the MINORITY of the games for all but 1 championship run.

I killed Torre for many things, but he got that one right. The only championship the Yankees won with Posada the main guy in the playoffs was 2000. Nothing since. Posada should be the primary DH and third string defensive catcher. The Yankees have enough offense to carry Cervelli or Molina's bat. Plus, with Matsui and Nady [or Swisher] on the bench, you can pinch hit for one of those at bats a game, with Gardner to run.

They do that, they win. They don't, they lose. It's really that simple.
