Boston fan from SF Bay Area. The only time I've been in Boston was when I was 16, which was ... um ... more than a couple decades ago but less than three decades ago. I use MLB.tv to watch the games. Love the Sox/baseball but I'm not a stat-fanatic, just love to watch/root for the team.

 

Been looking for a place to socialize about live games as they happen, sometimes. Tried Twitter, that's kinda fun, but I'm not into the whole following/reply method of Twitter so it feels too detached. Maybe a forum works better?

Pretty much--you can't really have a discussion, and the things people post on there are the most trivial nuggets of one's life. Who the f*** cares what you're eating for breakfast or if you're taking a s***?

I like reading a few of the "famous people" tweets (like Brent Spiner, scalzi, Keven Spacey) who actually use Twitter for something besides "Go see my new show!", and I could see using it for family maybe, but other than that, it's not very fun for me.

 

Even if you Follow people, most of the time you end up with pages and pages of half-conversations on your list, and what fun is that to read? But I had to at least try Twitter. heh
