You are correct, sir! I get the feeling that I am the oldest person on this board. I'm glad you knew who it was, regardless of your age. Very Impressive! Bruins won!

Wow! He was something else. He had the Sox number in the series.

a700 is very cool. But I'm old as hell, didn't recognize Gibby.

YEAH Bruins.

Nick Green stranded. If he could field as well as he hits consistently...imagine.....

Smoltz is going to take Penny's spot. No doubt about it.

Maybe we could have a 6 man rotation to help Dice-K and all....

Except for Sox pitcher Jose Santiago who homered against him into the screen above the Monster in his first Series AB. lol!

His line doesn't look that bad tonight, you know.

Penny did much better tonight. Just the same, he was pulled just in time. He was getting hit fairly hard (outs included).

I don't believe we have enough data on Green to make a fair assessment. He has made several really good plays at short, and recently several errors. He is fairly hot at the plate of late, which is cool. He is a journeyman infielder with 10 years in the minors. Still, I'm pulling for him to stick with the big club.

If he plays as he has been so far, he is an upgrade from Lugo. We'll see.

No doubt!;)

Yaz is one of THE ALL TIME GREATS. The best left fielder I ever saw, and one of the best 1st basemen. And a classy gentleman.

That is enough of a sample size for me to conclude the Nick Green is a below average baseball player. We know that Nick Green is not going to hit .316 the rest of the way, and if he's going to make five errors in a relatively short time frame, then the Red Sox should be looking for an upgrade, as soon as possible.

Getting hit that hard, not missing bats, and not commanding your pitches is a disaster waiting to happen. He needs to be replaced by Smoltz, who does the opposite of what Penny does.

I agree that he probably won't continue to hit as well. My point is (I guess) that with Cora gone, Green would be a reasonable addition to the roster. I don't think he is going to stink it up in the field and he probably won't hit better than .250.
