I was impressed for the most part with Penny today. 93-95 most of the outting, he did make a few mistakes but ill take his stuff.

5 3-ER innings, not the greatest performance, yet passable.

 

However, not sure if anyone else noticed, but Penny lived off of FBs and changeups exclusively, seeing as he didn't use his curveball, which is his 2nd best pitch, (prolly trying to keep himself in the game longer), he might be much more effective in future starts once he completely integrates his breaking pitches to his arsenal.

I agree MANNYHOF24. His arm looks healthy. He just needs to be able to throw his secondary stuff for strikes.

Team seems incohesive so far this year. There's a lot of promise here, but a lot left to be desired.

 

After a long offseason where it seems so easy to know what kind of team we have, the harsh reality of a 162 game season have set in... going day to day, winning some losing some, its a long and nail-biting season.

 

Personally, I think this team needs to be aggressive in the trade market and should pursue a marquee offensive player for the second half.

I think that I just saw Papi line a hard shot to CF. I've seen him driving the ball to CF pretty consistently, and I'm pretty sure in ST he had pretty good numbers. I see no reason to think he won't be pretty productive this year.

 

Manny, I'm not so sure about how he'll be replaced. Bay is a very good player. One thing I don't understand is hitting him behind Baldelli when Rocco starts. Doesn't make any sense to me.
