4/8 vs Rays

Gotta have a lefty in the pen.

 

That one doesn't fly, as we have Oki and Jones who could be our lefties, but I think Lopez is overall an asset.

 

This was just not our game.

Game wrap: Not helped by the Referees tonight, but that wasn't the reason we lost. Absurdly bad execution, a lack of success with balls in play, and very poor defensive decision making sank the Red Sox tonight.

 

Hard to pick a team goat since they all had to work so hard for the privellege. I think it has to go as a group to Boston's infield defense, including the pitcher, which had a very bad night of it.

The only reason to have a lefty specialist is if you have a couple of other who don't fare well against lefties at all who might need to come out instead of facing the lefty. The only guy we have right now that I can think of who answers that description is Masterson.

Never said anything about a LOOGY because Lopez certainly isn't one. I agree that they are a waste.

Yeah, if our worst problem in the pen is Lopez, then that's a pretty decent pen. Lopez earns his berth on this team, or has over the last 2 years. Wouldn't half mind seeing Jones but his promotion at Javy's expense constitutes a risk we really don't have to take.

That kinda sucked. BUT-they added springs to the seats in the grandstands, so now when you get up, the seat moves up too (such modern technology, right?). So that's kinda cool.

The troll is back....and no, I did not give up after the 3rd inning of yesterdays game. Yesterday's game personified how the Rays win. It sure is great to watch Maddon directing the ship. You guys had your chances. Nice to see Pena get out of his 0-6 funk. Good pitching matchup today. I'll be back at 1:35 to talk some Rays trash!!

That's an 11 call swing. Pretty bad. The final plots at brooksbaseball reveal we got squeezed more than they got gifts. Although, watching that game, what hurt most with their gifts was the timing. The 6th and the 8th featured high LEV ABs where the Sox had multiple runners on and Rays pitchers managed to get crucial K's via the extra wide strikezone. Oh well, hope it evens out today.
