He's 22. It is WAYYY too early to make a decision on that.

Ok, that's fair, and if we're talking about trading him for the majority of pitchers in baseball, I would tend to agree.

But common, we're talking about Johan Santana, the best pitcher in baseball. Hughes may turn out to be very good, and I'm not even close to giving up on him, but the odds of him being as good as Santana are incredibly slim.

Santana has never really been an injury risk, and he really isn't showing any signs of slowing down.

Joba finished at 109 pitches. Solid line.

Coke and Albaladejo will likely be relied upon over the next 2 innings. We better get some runs.

They'll probably go to Albaladejo first, and then bring in Coke once Span comes up (due up in four batters). I'm guessing they'll rely on Coke to get them through Kubel, or the 8th inning, whichever one comes first.

They need to stop pitching Veras in close games. This is a huge mistake. I would have preferred Albaledjo or Tomko. It would be nice to see Tomko in close games.

Yeah I completely agree. That didn't make too much sense. I don't know what it's going to take for Girardi to concede that he can't use Veras in high pressure situations.

Here is my main problem with using him today. The bottom of the order is up. If you just bring in someone that can throw strikes, like Tomko, you should be alright.

I agree. I dont think Veras is done. But something is amiss. He just cannot come close to the plate. You cannot use that guy to start an inning against hitters who are gonna be looking to take first.

Aside from his first few appearances' date=' Phil Coke has been absolute gold.[/quote']

Oh God...now he will have an era upwards of 7. f***.

Great job by Coke. Now he gets a tough test, but one that he had last night. He'll face Mauer, Morneau, and Kubel. Last night he faced these guys and Mauer was the only one who beat him. If the inning continues past Kubel, considering how much Girardi cares about match ups, I'm assuming he'll go to Albaledjo against Cuddyer.

Great. Coke gives up a homer. Tie game. Go f*** yourself Jacko, you stupid chickenshit piece of crap.

are you f***ing kidding me?

Are you honestly surprised? Coke is good. Mauer and Morneau are great hitters. It doesn't shock me at all that one of them beat Coke. Five home runs between Mauer and Morneau in the past two games is ridiculous.

For what it's worth, Rivera should have pitched the 8th, and Tomko should have pitched the 9th.

For what it's worth, the first pitch to Morneau was a strike. Could have made a difference...

I wish JHB was still here. He wouldn't have too much to complain about so far this year in terms of the Yankees getting help from the home plate ump. There were bad calls in both of the at bats where the Twins hit home runs. In the Mauer one there were actually two.

Jacko is the biggest moron in the history of Yankee fans. He resorts to "you are delusional" since I've shown him to be a f***ing clueless moron.

I've been on this board for over 3 years. I have yet to see him be right on anything. Not just once. He's a f***ing moron and a jinx.

Gom, lets be honest, you're frustrated the Yankees are losing. Don't just start bashing Jacko. You bashing him doesn't contribute to this board in any way whatsoever.

1. I am frustrated they are losing.

2. It's not bashing, it's actually telling the truth about a moron.

3. It does make me feel better to put him in his place, since he can't defend a single view he's had in four years.
