Chamberlain pitched impressively. It looks like the 8 days off really help him, I haven't seen that kind of velocity on his fastball since the beginning of the year.

Yeah, but he only dialed it up a few times. I'd like to see that kind of consistency from him [94+] for the whole game.

Wow' date=' the Yankees have won a few in a row...Translation...Gom is baaaack.[/quote']

Or could it be Sunday, and I have some time off? Nah...that would be too obvious.

How convenient:lol:

Yeah, it's convenient. Only an idiot like you would think I'm only here after a Yankee win after I've posted here a couple of THOUSAND times.

It must suck to be the last girl left in the bar every weekend.

Joba dialed it up today. I hadn't seen him hit 97 all year. His mechanics looked off, like what DipreG was saying. His release point was all over the place.

Good call DipreG. I missed that one.

I've a pretty keen eye for pitching mechanics because i know a couple people who make a living out of developing ballplayers and have taught me the finer points of pitching and hitting as well.

Holy s***...you watch the games? Isn't that some sort of blasphemous act around here? You mean you don't sit around masturbating to pitch f/x or FanGraphs and moaning how the pitch is 1/50th of an inch outside and your team didn't get the call?

I watch about 90% of Red Sox games, and every Yankee game that doesn't fall within the same schedule, of course.

If you knew some of the stuff i pick up about Yankee pitchers, you'd find out how incompetent the trainers for that pitching staff really are.

Either that, or a lot of Yankee pitchers have really hard heads.

Our opinions around here must be based only on stats (the more obscure the better). Nothing can be learned from watching the games.

You're clearly on fire today, old timer.

But the "But he must suck" line on Halladay will not be outdone.

Pray tell. I've picked up a few things, I'd like to compare notes.

I'll hit you up with a couple PMs in a couple minutes.

The combination of Hughes and Rivera at the end of games has been pretty great. In a way, what Hughes is doing out of the bullpen makes what Joba did a couple years ago seem a bit less impressive. I would imagine that if you took most starters who have really good stuff, and allow them to empty the tank over one or two innings, they will do extremely well.

Hughes is reaching velocities he hasnt seen in 2 yrs. 97 the other night. He looks really' date=' really good and with Aceves back in the pen, we now have a reliable bridge to Mo.[/quote']

Looks like Hughes is a reliever. Both him and Joba haven't had nearly the success as a starter as they have as a reliever.

I hope this isn't what you meant to say.

No it wasn't at all. Congrats you capitalized on a drunken typo yet again. ;)

That's why I post at this hour. It's prime time for typos.

It's OK, I still love you. Even if you are a straight edge punk ;)

That is to be expected. Hughes and Joba both have electric fastballs and a lights out breaking pitch. Outside of their top 2 pitches, they have average pitches thereafter and they havent built up the stamina at the big league level yet. It will come, but it will take time. There is a reason why pitchers with solid arsenals do well in the pen right away and why pitchers with those same arsenals struggle early out of the rotation.

You're an ass that can't take a joke. Thought you had a sense of humor? Guess not, thicken your skin and go f*** yourself.

Have a blessed day.

How is the reception at the old folk's home?

You don't think Joba's curve is a plus pitch anymore?

I hate it when they make fun of me. Just because I'm 42, live in my mother's basement and wear Star Trek jammies, have never actually seen a baseball game and just look at Fangraphs all day, they don't have to make me feel bad!

Same 'ol stuff. It's just me and my brother at the beach house sipping margaritas and waiting for our two beautiful stripper friends who are about half our age. I'll have to remember to put in my teeth and change my Depends. What drudgery! How's your day going?
