lol, a blowout, I wish. The Yankees just aren't swinging the bats well, overall.

They need to considering swapping A-Rod and Teixeira, because the Yankees are at their best when A-Rod is doing well.

What is really incredible is how poorly these hitters are doing once they get ahead in the count. When Teixeira was up in the 6th he worked the count to 3-0. Last inning A-Rod was 2-0. Here Matsui was 3-0. The offense is pretty pathetic right now.

This team would be in a lot worse shape if they hadn't gotten this kind of surprise production from Aceves.

EDIT: Once again, a Yankee hitter gets ahead in the counts, but doesn't get on.

lol f*** me. None of them on hits.

Yup, very very fortunate. And the first pitch to Cano, who drew the bases loaded walk, was a strike. Swung the whole AB.

I am utterly shocked at how well Posada is framing pitches, although he admitted that he had worked on it while he was out with his injury.

That being said, why the hell is Matsui in the lineup? The guy has never been able to recognize the fastball away, he has a slight step in the bucket, and he leads the universe in groundballs to second base.

I don't understand why Melky doesn't play right, Gardner is in center, and Swisher DH's [swish in for Gardner when Posada DHs].

Nady will solve a lot of problems, in my opinion. The hope is for him to be back after inter-league play.

The Rays will not play .500 ball unless they get some bullpen help. Getting 4 good innings from that atrocious pen was too much for maddon to expect.

Looks like the Rays' bullpen woke up after last year. I don't think they look like a playoff team this year, and it's hard to imagine a scenario in which the Sox and Yanks don't both make the playoffs.

They have a strong rotation and an offense with plenty of power and speed. They are also very solid defensively (with the exception of this weekend). Let's not forget that they have been playing without Bartlett for a few weeks already. He was hitting about .360 with power and he is better defensively than any of our SS or jeter. They have a pretty deep versatile bench too. They could definitely knock the Sox or Yankees out of the playoffs.

Sonnanstine, the suck bomb that is better than Wakefield (allegedly), is continuing his stellar 2009 campaign. Wish we could have a guy like him.

I've always liked Gape Kapler. As a player, and as a person. The image of Gabe rounding second, getting his cleat caught in the turf seam and rupturing his Achilles Tendon is etched in my memory. He always played hard for the Sox and conducted himself as a gentleman off the field. As a bonus, his Wife is a babe.

I have a Kapler Brewers shirt. I'm not sure why.

Wicked cool. How about a Rockies or Tigers shirt? Seriously, the guy is alright. He is intelligent and articulate and comports himself with honor. He played hard (not always pretty) and has (I believe) earned the respect and admiration of Sox fans. There are two former Sox players that I would like to see as coaches or as a manager with the Sox. Kapler and Eric Wedge.

Plus he shits three pounds of steroids every day.

Yeah, that may be true. He is ripped. Are his teeth gaped? Is his forehead prominent? Not sure. Probably juiced.

I still like him.
