No, this is a Red Sox board. Your innane commentary about the Yankees game is in the context of how it relates to the Sox.

Sox up 8-1

He's a great player to root against and his cost and money grubbing nature only add to that. I admit he's a very good hitter and a great player, but I'm only going to give him that. He's a Yankee and he makes me sick to my stomach.

Good idea Gardner, fake the bunt with a man on second and one out.

It wasn't a fake bunt at all. He was going to try to bunt for a hit, but the curve fooled him.

Try to drive in the freaking run.

He was probably thinking that he could get the runner over to third with one out for one of the Yankees' best hitters.

Bunt: take the bat out of his hands. Keep him from more effectively working a walk. Prevent any sort of extra-base hit. Guy is only hitting .318, so I guess it seems he's incapable of getting a hit.

He could hit a gb to the right side and do the same thing, except it might also score the run if it goes through.

It is a weak play. I get how it works for Gardner--he's got speed and all--but it isn't aggressive and the mgr likely isn't calling for it.

There is already an out. A ground ball to the right side would likely result in the second out.

They have him bunting with TWO STRIKES? Good god' date=' just turn the bat around and hit with the handle.[/quote']

Unreal. Cabrera has been awesome this season too. Definitely don't want him swinging away...

E1, I'm right there with you when it comes to the sacrifice bunts. However, some guys bunt for hits, and that is just their game. Gardner happens to be one of those guys.

So would a bunt, as chances are a bunt base hit is rarer for Gardner than an actual base hit is.

swing. the. bat.

How many has he bunted for this year?

More whining.

have you watched this game? Jeter beat out a grounder to first by a step and a half and was called out prior to Tex's homer. Then, Posada gets a strike called on him that is neck high prior to bouncing into the DP with the winning run on 3rd and 1 out. Two huge plays

THE YANKEES LOSE!! THAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA YANKEES LOSE!!

Wahh, umpires. Wahhh, umpires.

Finally the Yankees lose a game that they should have lost. Teixeira's heroics were for nothing.

yep, the umpires should get credit for that loss. Atrocious umpiring cost us this ballgame. Hopefully Girardi sends a game tap to MLB and those shitheads get canned. 2 huge calls killed us today. Killed us and took a win and made it a loss.

The name of this thread should be changed to the "Whiny Game Thread".

It's so crazy how the Yankees are the only team to ever have calls go against them, isn't it Jacksonian?

No, it isn't. It is part of the game.

While you're at it, why don't you also send them the tape of Phil Coke walking Trevor Crowe to lead off the inning?
