This team is frustrating to watch right now. They're discombobulated. Good offensive day, and the pitching blows up. Good pitching day and the offense is quiet. Good pitching and offense and the D or the pen give it up. They'll find their groove. Thing is, it is pretty hard to get a groove going when 3 of your starters, and middle of the order forces are on the DL. ARod is due back this week. Posada and Nady are due back by month's end. Marte is due back mid month. And Bruney, assuming he doesnt need surgery, should be back by month's end. We need all the firepower we can get. And, Wang is due back by month's end. Its amazing, 2 yrs in a row the injuries just gut us.

Last yr, we lost Posada, Matsui, Wang, ARod for 3 weeks, Damon for 3 weeks, Chamberlain for 6 weeks and others I may be forgetting

5 weeks into this season, we lose ARod for 6 weeks, Nady for 6 weeks, Wang for 6 weeks, Posada for 3 weeks, Bruney for 4 weeks assuming he doesnt need surgery, and Marte for 2-4 weeks. The injuries around this team are immense. And, one thing the dynasty yankees had was health. That team didnt miss games. Now, seems we're missing half the team.

Stop talking like lady luck has decided to take a s*** on the Yankees. Old teams get injured, that's just how it works.

The Yankess historically have an excellent record at home. Looks like they have lost that advantage with the new stadium.

12 games. 12 games. 12 games. 12 games.

Now how do you keep the Rays from scoring with someone not named Mariano Rivera?

EDIT: And they end up bring in Rivera. Now the question becomes whether he is available for two innings, unlike last night.

The one steady part of this team (outside of a pitch to Jason Bay) gives it up. Not much is going well in Yankee land. Regardless of what happens here, it would be nice if Sabathia really shows up tomorrow and puts an end to this losing streak.

Yo cant blame there start on injuries. The only one that hurt you guys is A-rod. Wang isn't hurt he just sucks dick. Nady is not going to save your season. Bruney and Marte are off to decent starts but Marte blows. I havnt seen enough of Bruney to really say anything. They suck now because their big investments are not paying off. Tex is the only one with a half decent excuse of not having A-rod in the line up.

I think the Yankees will be fine and win 90 games but don't blame their slow start on injuries, they just are not playing good.

They aren't playing well, but to say injuries haven't contributed is wrong. They are without their best player. One of the two guys who was pitching well out of the bullpen (outside of Rivera) is hurt. They have played a role.

You cant get by with just two guys in the bullpen anyway. A-rod is hurting them but thats not a good excues. Yes they would be better if they had him your best player goes down and you have a 190 million dollar pay role you should be able to stay above .500.

No, you can't get by with just two reliable guys in the bullpen. So then one of those guys goes down with an injury, and that fact alone should tell you how valuable Bruney was to them.

As for A-Rod, let me give you an example, just to further prove how important he is to the Yankees. They won 89 games last year. They were without A-Rod for 24 games last year. In those games the Yankees were 9-15. Not having A-Rod, even though it was only for 24 games, may very well have cost them a playoff berth.

Fair enough but with or without Bruney their bullpen is/was screwed. I think its safe to say though on paper the Yankees are better this year then last year, therefore losing A-Rod this year should not have the impact on the team it did last year. The team is just under performing, yes injuries have hurt but its no excuse for them being below .500. That being said I think they will turn it around and finish around 90 wins depending on how there bullpen holds up. They always start slow anyway.

Arod isnt the guy who gives up double digits in every other start or blows leads in the 9th inning.

When your team ERA is last in baseball neither Arod or the Pope or the Dalai LLama can help you.
